Sorry to write this review since we really enjoy the collection of 4 Sister Properties. We planned a quick trip to Napa in Feb for my wife's birthday and decided to stay at the Blackbird Inn for the first time. We checked in later in the afternoon, dropped off our luggage & freshened up before departing for dinner. We returned from dinner later that evening and got ready for bed. I can honestly tell you that it was the WORST nights sleep that I & my wife had ever had! The mattress was unbearable. We could feel the springs coming up through the mattress. I wanted to bring this to the attention of the Innkeeper but they had left for the evening. In order to get half way comfortable we each had to sleep on top of the comforter and had to pile pillows between the comforter and the mattress. Needless to say we did not get much sleep. The next morning I spoke with the front desk assistant and brought her into the room to show her the condition of the mattresses. She apologized and said that we could move to another room that afternoon. We left that morning and returned later that afternoon. When we returned there was a different lady working at the front desk. She was expecting us and offered to show us another room. Each room that we saw had the same issue......the mattresses were absolutely horrible. At that time I told her that staying at Blackbird was not an option so she offered to move us to another property. I really was not interested in moving since we had dinner reservations in Napa that evening but we had no choice. She called Lavender and they had availability so me made the trek up to Yountville. The quality of mattresses between Lavender & Blackbird are night & day.
I sent an email to the 4 Sisters inn corporate office when we returned from our trip. I received a phone call from the Assistant to the Executive Director. She was very professional and apologized while I explained in detail our experience as noted above. She said that she would discus our experience with the regional manager and that someone would follow up with a phone call the next week. I never received a phone call so I sent them a follow-up email the next month. This time I received a call from the Regional Director. Unfortunately I wasn't available so she left a message. I returned her ph call the next day & she was not available so i left a message. She never called back..........You would think that in these economic times that customer service would be a top priority. It seems Upper Management is VERY lax when it comes to customer concerns. I would love to stay at their other properties when I travel but based on this experience and their lack of response I will think twice before choosing a 4 Sisters Inn.

My friends and I loved The Blackbird Inn in Napa, California. The house is newly rennovated and reflects an unusual amount of care in the selection of beautiful wood and stone used throughout the house. We found the staff to be very helpful. Breakfast was included in the price which showcased a different quiche-type dish each day along with an ever-changing sidedish, warm breads, fruit, juice, coffee, etc. Breakfast was a great way to start our day before hitting the wineries and we had so much fun discussing everyone's favorites.
I would definitely recommend the Blackbird Inn!

This was a Napa trip that was 3 years in the making, and I needed to find a perfect place for my boyfriend and I to stay.

Location was excellent. A block away from downtown- so you get the quiet street as well as the walking distance day/nightlife.

Really a beautiful B&B- cozy and warm, very inviting, great prices. We didn't want to spend too much money, and Blackbird was perfect (actually, we took a look at one of the bigger rooms with a patio, and we might end up splurging next time).

Wonderful room, comfortable bed and clean shower and bathroom. Delicious breakfast in the morning (definitely not your typical B&B food; quiches and potatoes... mmm). Coffee and tea always downstairs ready for you, which made for a perfect pick-me-up after a nap to enjoy fresh tea on the patio, people-watching.

Very romantic, wonderful place to stay. I definitely will go back to Blackbird Inn and try the other Four Sisters B&Bs. They really made our Napa trip one to remember!

You never really know what you're going to get if you have not stayed at a new hotel or b&b before. We were pleasantly surprised by everything at Black Bird Inn. First the service is top notch. They are super accommodating, friendly, kind, helpful and employ a wonderful staff. Secondly, the rooms are super cute, quaint and more importantly CLEAN. They serve a beautiful and super yummy breakfast in the morning, much better than a packaged "croissant" and cold coffee. We are talking homemade quiche, fruit, juice, and more. It was a very pleasant stay for us and I would recommend them without hesitation to anyone looking for a really nice place to stay for a reasonable price. I really cannot say enough nice things about them. They are wonderful.
