The building is older and smells musty. No exercise room and the "breakfast area" is just a counter across from the front desk. Our room was on the front of the building and we did not hear traffic noise. The linens were above average and the tv was an updated flat screen. Internet worked fine. Our college student son is living in Mountain View with several college friends and we went out to visit. We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The price of $85 (total) per night was the only reason we did not move to the Holiday Inn Express down the street. We had several more days in California and decided to stay with this cheaper hotel for these three days. The stairwell was crowded with mattresses and janitor supplies that you had to step around. On Sunday morning, my husband went down for coffee and witnessed an argument between a woman who wandered in off the street and a man who followed her in to the lobby. The neighborhood is fine but I guess the locals feel free to drop in. Also, the breakfast that was advertised to be available at 6 am was not available by 6:30 am on Sunday (we were leaving early San Francisco and had hoped for a quick coffee). Sunday night was supposed to be a higher rate than the weekend but it was easy to convince the man at the desk to give us the weekend rate. There were fewer cars in the parking lot on Sunday night.
