With the convention in town left very few choices so I chose this as its still a convenient location. The staff is very friendly. The hotel is kind of dirty and low end, room smelled a bit. Hallyways smelled of Cig. smoke- (isn't that outlawed in CA?)
Thankfully I only slept here for one night. Otherwise I might have let it affect me. I will return to my regular Motel down the street with the same star rating according to Expedia/TA but I really dont think so.

Average is the key word here. Clean enough, nice enough, and a good deal for the price considering it was about half the cost of the Holiday Inn Express across the street. The TV was a little long in the tooth (no flatscreens here) and the room was a little plain. The room was a good size though and the fridge and microwave welcome additions. Are there better hotels? Definitely. Is this one a good budget place though? Definitely

This lives up to the motto. I thought I would only be sleeping here, and I'm not doing that again. There is an immediate overpowering smokey smell in the lobby, hallways, and rooms, despite signs saying otherwise. They tried to leave the window open to vent the smell, but it did not work. The room should have been cleaned but wasn't. Overall, pay the extra couple of dollars, and spend your money else where.

It was my fault I guess that I did not realize that the room I booked was a smoking room (did not even know that was still an option). The room was very dated but I guess it goes with the price range. The staff tried to help by spraying the room but that wore off pretty fast. It will be the standard (at the low end) from which I will judge all rooms.
