“Great place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2011

We stayed at the Tree House on our road trip down to California. The hotel is conveniently located off I5 and seems well run.
The reception area was beautifully decorated (we arrived on December 23rd), and the staff was very friendly and accommodating.

We got a spacious king bed room with view on the second floor. The large window looked straight to the mountain.
The room had all the amenities we needed (working fridge, microwave, coffee maker...). The bed was comfortable, shower had good water pressure, towels were fresh and plush, soap was creamy and had a yummy citrus smell.
Wifi was readily available and worked well.
The breakfast was above other Best Western standards, with lots of choices of cereal, fresh food, fruit juices, eggs, bacon, sausages, and waffles.
There is a grocery store in walking distance, and the main street of the town is just a couple of blocks away.
Although the hotel is close to the highway, you can't really hear any noise. The only noise we heard in the night was the train, but it didn't bother me (was faint enough).

So, this was a nice surprise for an overnight stay on our trip, and we'll come back.

Room Tip: Splurge on a room with a view.

“Good Views of the Mountain”

The hotel was ideally located as close to I-5 and to the town. The hotel rooms are of a standard layout although they cleverly have doors to the garden areas and internally to allow you to travel about if the weather is inclement. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We only ate breakfast in the restaurant which although not outstanding it was above average and a pleasant surprise.

“A Long Stay for work”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 December 2011

My stay was 5 weeks while I worked in Mt. Shasta. And at first, living in a hotel would not have been my choice but that was decided by my employer. It worked out just fine with a nice staff and a super helpful day manager "Sandy" who let me move to a room I really wanted for a long stay. The view was great from the 3rd floor with my own balcony, I had a private gym everyday with a large flat screened TV, a laundry room, real eggs for breakfast and friendly waitresses, decent frig & microwave with a coffee maker, big pool area with a hot jacquzzi and a cozy fireplace in the lobby. When you can't have a fancy resort with a golf course this Best Western does exactly what it should. Many thanks to the staff !

“Cozy place on a cool rainy night”

Friendly staff at check-in. Comfortable updated and clean room. Restaurant was understaffed and service slow. Several food and wine choices were unavailable. Prices for food and wine were reasonable but the preparation was below average...e.g. spaghetti and meat balls smothered with Parmesan like onion soup, sauce with hard carrot coins, "grilled" fish that was pan-fried. We had off-season rates which were a good value.

“Our family has stayed here every summer for years!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2011

This was a great find as we were searching for hotels on our way to Washington. The hotel looks like a big log cabin and the decor fits the cozy cabin feel. The beds are very comfortable and the restaurant is very good. The included breakfast is wonderful. It is an older hotel so it can be creaky and is pretty dimly lit but the staff is very friendly and the positives outweigh the negatives by a long shot. We always go swimming with the family in their large heated indoor pool and hop in the jacuzzi from time to time. The surrounding city is quaint and friendly. We love to shop at the little whole foods market on the main street and also have to indulge in the Hawaiian shaved ice at the burger joint on the same street. I highly recommend this place!

Room Tip: We booked a two bedroom suite this time (due to our growing family) and the view was So beautiful.
