We stayed here for one night as part of a planned road trip around Northern California. Getting to Mount Shasta wasn't easy, and took us about 8 hours from Mendocino due to the type of roads we were on, so we were pleased when we arrived to a friendly welcome (can't remember the young girls name, but she was very helpful).
The room itself was rather dated and a bit shabby, bed quite soft and marks on the sheets. Other than that, quite clean and basic.
Mount Shasta town is pleasant and of course the views of the mountain are stunning.
Breakfast was ok, plenty of cereal choice and toast on hand just help yourself to everything.
On leaving we asked a lady on the reception desk how to get to the lake nearby, she wasn't very helpful and told us we should go across the street and ask someone over there as she didn't know. I just felt it must be one of two main questions people would ask, how to get to the Lake / Mountain!! And with the town not being that big, I found it abit unbelievable she didn't know! After the friendly welcome we received on arrival, it was rather disappointing. She didn't even look up from the desk when I went in to hand the key card in on departure.
After seeing some of the other accommodation options available, it is probably one of the best in the area, but in need of an update, and friendlier staff!
