My husband and I stayed two nights at the Seal Cove Inn to celebrate our Anniversary and Birthdays. We were welcomed to the hotel with balloons and a bottle of wine. The Inn was spotless and very stylish...this isn't your grandma's B&B. Our room was fantastic, high ceilings, fireplace, balcony, and a clean and ample bathroom. Each afternoon we enjoyed a great spread of sweets, cheese & crackers, veggies, and a special dip, etc. The breakfast was also fantastic - artichoke quiche!! Finally the staff was so nice to set aside breakfast and brew some coffee earlier than usual as we had to leave early for the airport. I hope to be back and walk the beautiful trails behind the Inn, play the Ritz's Ocean Course again and see all the seals!

We loved everything about the Seal Cove Inn. All the little extras the Inn provided just added to our stay. The home made cookies at the front desk, wine and appetizers in the afternoon, the morning paper left outside our room , the coffee and tea any time we wanted it, and the breakfast was wonderful! It was such a quiet retreat for us at the end of our week long trip to California and what a way to end it. Thank you all at the Seal Cove Inn.

My husband and I stayed at the Seal Cove Inn for two evenings. We flew from NY to San Francisco and arrived very late in the evening. The staff had advised us before hand where to find information and the key to let ourselves into the B&B. We easily located our room and found a bottle of chilled wine waiting for us.

We woke up in the morning to a beautiful view of a naturally landscaped yard with an abundance of birds, rabbits and wild life. It was wonderful to open the sliding glass door and step into paradise! Their accommodations and food were very good. We had a fireplace in our room, which made it very cozy on the chilly evenings. Highly recommended!

I recently stayed at the Seal Cove Inn as a stop along my way to Monterey, CA after a very long flight from Columbus, Ohio. This place is idyllic and just a perfect place to stay as an introduction to Monterey. The rooms are very tastefully decorated and are of ample size. They included a complimentary bottle of wine upon check-in along with some light evening snacks which were perfect after a long trip! The amenities are perfect and include a heated towel rack, two bags of firelogs that can be readily ignited in the fireplace, and top end toiletries. Maya, who checked me in, even provided me with a coupon to a local restaurant (along with a flashlight to help lead my way). The breakfast was exceptional featuring artichoke quiche, croissants, oatmeal, yogurt, etc. Service is just what you want without being overbearing.... I travel a lot for my job and it was so refreshing to be in a beautiful inn that is not like every other Marriott/Hilton, etc. (no offense). The other thing I need to mention is that my room overlooked a beautifully manicured garden that was accessible upon walking through the sliding glass doors from my room.

Peaceful, excellent service, and great retreat! Highly recommend this place.

This was our second trip to the Seal Cove Inn, which should tell you something right there. It's located immediately next to a fine seaside park, with paths that lead down to (surprise) a cove that plays host to many seals. Along with the tide pools, and the ever-changing yet always constant California coast it makes for a tranquil and yet powerful setting for exploration or leisurely strolling.

The breakfasts are tasty and varied with each new day. The afternoon snack service is also quite nice. The staff is attentive and friendly, but not intrusive. TVs and DVD players with a small library of films if you actually feel the need to turn on the TV. Instead, however, I'd just recommend opening up the door to your balcony (if you're in a room so equipped) and just listen to the sounds of the ocean echoing up from the cove. Sit by the fire in your room and enjoy the coastal ambiance.

It's nearby to some good restaurants as well. I'd recommend the Moss Beach Distillery (only a short walk) for Sunday brunch or sunset drinks/dinner. And if you're in the mood for Fish & Chips you'd be hard to find better than Barbara's Fish Trap which only a short drive to the south.

The only downside to the Inn that I've noticed is that it's not far from the north end of the (very very small) airport of Half Moon Bay. But the airport doesn't see much traffic (and it's all small planes) except when it hosts the "Dream Machines" event - and if that's happening you might be treated to views of exotic bi-planes, so it's a fair trade to have the otherwise non-stop tranquility briefly interrupted.
