“Vet Nice!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

Lovely lady owner was very nice and helpful and accommodated us with a good value rate at very late notice. Room was clean with lots of new fixtures and fitting! The spa is a hot tup and although we didn't have the chance to use it, it looked well looked after and pleasant.

The breakfast was an unexpected joy! Included in the rate, good selection of standard breakfast stuff, coffee, tea, toast, fruit, cereal etc with wonderful addition of a DIY fresh waffle iron!

All in all just right! and only a short (hill) down to all the local attraction, restaurants, bars and shops! Would defiantly return!

“Don't think we got our money's worth.”

DO NOT pay extra for one of the rooms with a 'view' of Morro Rock. That view includes a couple of two story buildings between you and the rock.
Everything was clean (a few mismatched lightbulbs) but for my taste the bed was way, too soft. And, too add insult to an aching back, around 6:00 am a delivery truck pulled up almost under our window and proceeded to sit there idling while they unloaded supplies for the restaurant directly behind the motel.
Besides which, the ice machine was at the bottom of the stairs leading to our room and the noise carried straight up. Altogether not quiet enough to be restful.
Almost any motel in Morro Bay is in walking distance of the things you want to see. I wouldn't stay here again.

“Homey and Clean Place to Hang My Hat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

Following a very long drive heading north from San Diego County, with traffic often bumper to bumper for miles (the day after Christmas), I finally made it to my destination (Best Western Tradewinds, in Morro Bay) . . . four hours later than planned. This was a new trek along the coast for me, so every turn was foreign and, as night was falling before I was anywhere near Morro Bay, I was feeling a little uncertain about continuing in the dark for what seemed like an eternity. Aila, the manager, was extremely helpful in receiving my calls for directions (and reassurance). By the time I'd arrived to check in, I was fairly bedraggled, so decided to extend my stay by an extra day, just to unwind, and see some of the sights of the area. Again, Aila accommodated me at the last minute, with the additional night's reservation, and continued hospitality. I stayed in a lovely room on the second level that was one of the homiest hotel rooms I've every experienced! It was warmly (and nicely) furnished, and very clean. I especially loved the shower/tub, with granite walls, in separate room with commode. The dim lighting set a very relaxing mood to simply hang out in a warm bubble bath to relax and unwind. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. Hats off to Aila for her successful management of this hotel and professional & congenial staff! I would recommend to anyone planning on traveling along the coast. It is a worthwhile place to stop and "hang your hat."

Room Tip: I was on the second floor, but don't recall my room number.

“Great Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

I was very pleased with this hotel. It had a great breakfast area. The room was very clean and well kept. I liked that it was quiet also. I tried their spa. It was very relaxing and I could see Morro rock from the spa. I will definately visit there again.

Room Tip: stayed upstairs and the view was great

“Best Kept Secret in Morro Bay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

Because I reside in Fresno, I frequent the Central Coast. I travel a lot and have stayed in many motels, but I would have to say this is one the cleanest rooms Ive ever stayed in! They even went the extra mile by providing a "clean remote" with a solid surface front that can be completely sanitized. Often coastal properties are older and show wear from the weather and the travelers; this property has been completely remodeled. Granite lines the walls of the tub shower, as well as in the sink area. New contemporary furniture, new paint and crown molding, new fixtures, flat screen tv, great beds (each with 4 fluffy pillows) and spotless housekeeping make for a great stay. The property is one half block up from the Embarcadero, restaurants and shops. There is a jacuzzi on their sun deck and you can see Morro Rock and the ocean from there. This is a real jewel for a moderately priced motel. They provide a small continental breakfast with coffee, juice, waffles, etc. This is not the Ritz Carlton with a spa and bed turndown service, etc., etc.; however, in its class...it excels. I will return again and again! There best room rate is the internet rate. I should also mention that the check in staff were wonderful with many "thank yous" for staying at the property. This is really one great property and oh so affordable. They provide microwave and a 4 foot refrigerator for those that want to stay several days and store goodies for picnics and hikes! So you can plan a trip to the ocean and not "break the bank". It is an non-smoking and no pets facility. Parking is on site. They also have internet availability in each room and oodles of channels to choose from on the TV and very good reception. It is on Beach St so it can be a little noisy, but the new dual pane windows muffle the noise.

Room Tip: Rooms on the north side can be hot from facing the south sun; but theres a/c and fan in room
