I had a decent room- 214 (smoking room). Bed was pretty good. TV worked great- liked the HBO. My room was on a corner, and had a small "courtyard" just outside the door, shielding me from most of the people coming and going. Some minor noise from other guests very early in the morning (that's why I travel with earplugs). No issues parking or feeling safe.
Positives: Professional, friendly front desk staff
Mostly very clean (had one friendly spider under the toilet- no big deal)
Has Iron and Ironing board- very important
Bed in usable condition- no bedbugs
Maid did a good job with refreshing room
Negatives: As one other person noted- big gap under door let the cold air in
The above is not good with a marginal to non-existent heating system (it worked eventually)
Room labeled as "Vending" had no vending machines in it!
While I did not have any issues with other guests, I can see where this place might be a magnet for a rowdy crowd in the warmer months.
Parking lot not well lit at all. This did not bother me, but it might creep some people out.
Overall: I MIGHT go back, if the price was the same as what I paid (about 45.00 a night in early January).

A normal motel, close to Monterey and Carmel by the sea. The room was clean and large, the breakfast was ok, more than a little coffe.

Took my mom here for a Mothers Day present and our trip was ruined due to this hotel. The guy on duty was stoned and sexually harassed me. The heater took four hours to get going and the interior door lock was ripped off which made me feel even more unsafe. I tried getting switched to another room for hours and the guy even lied to me telling me none were available and I realized this was a lie when noticing the "vacancies" sign was still on and when calling the reservation line and they confirmed there were rooms available and he had obviously lied to me. I reported the worker to management and the owner and the owner still insists "he was just joking around"....although they did fire him over the matter. Figure that! Don’t stay here!! There is so much more to this story, but I will some it up by saying literal NIGHTMARE!
