We've stayed at the Victorian Inn 3 years in a row and love it. It's lovely, clean, and the staff are wonderful. We just stayed 3 nights and felt so relaxed. The location is ideal because it's a short walk to everything....aquarium, shops, beach, fabulous restaurants, etc. We loved the expanded continental breakfast. This will continue to be our special place to stay.

Initially, we stayed at this hotel en route to Cambria, and were so impressed with the ambience and service that we returned a week later for another visit. We were in the old inn section of the hotel, and it was very well done in period pieces decor; the bathroom was thoroughly modern; the gas fireplaces in each room were positively delightful. The afternoon wine and cheese reception was an added surprise, and the breakfast was more than to be expected. We would definitely stay here again, and would recommend it highly to anyone seeking lodging in Monterey.

I agree with the other reviews, just expected a flat panel TV!! For the price, the old tube TV was not adequate for the room. We stayed for 3 Nights, so we did watch TV in the evenings. Everything else was great would stay again!

We stayed here on our way to San Diego. This is a great place to stay. It's within walking distance to Cannery Row and Fisherman's Wharf. The staff are oh so friendly and helpful. We had a room on the 3rd floor overlooking the courtyard. It had a balcony, vaulted ceilings and fireplace. The staff made a great recommendation for dinner at the Sea Harvest restaurant - much less expensive than Cannery Row. The wine and cheese reception was very good. They also served apples to go with the wine and cheese and for those who did not partake of the wine, lemonade and iced tea were offered. Breakfast the next morning was lovely and also included some hot items. It's a lovely dining room. They charge $13.00 for parking but they also allow you to leave your car in their lot until 6:00 PM the next day.

It's a great place to stay in Monterey. I highly recommend it.
