The rooms in this hotel are enormous and beautifully decorated. The valuted ceilings are gorgeous, the room has a lovely romantic feel, the bathroom is quite posh and the kitchenette area is just right for an extended stay or for storing a bottle of wine to share in front of the fireplace. Breakfast was pretty standard but a nice touch, parking was convenient although an extra fee and the location could only be made better by having a full ocean view (the Portola hotel across the street blocks it out). We walked to dinner on the wharf and a cafe for good coffee in the morning and will aboslutelystay here again the next time we're in Monterey. Given the size of the room, we even could have brought the kids with us and still had a nice vacation.

Rambling hotel has wonderful quiet rooms which are arranged and large enough to almost be like a suite, yet it's in the heart of Monterey with easy access to downtown Monterey, Cannery Row and The Aquarium.

Very spacious, modern rooms that appear to be early Spanish-Californian. Comfy bed, 2 showers in our room. Downside is they charge for parking and for Wi-Fi access. The continental breakfast was pretty standard, with enough variety for we gluten intolerant folks. Interesting to find your way around what seems to be a small hotel. Staff helpful in recommending restaurants...

We keep going back! Very nice rooms;ask for a renovated room on 3/4th floor...the best. Great fireplace, shower, frig,sheets,couch,table...all good
