Had multiple problems with noisy kids, slamming doors & noise at all hours. Had to move once due to screaming baby and had my room downgraded (I'm Gold Elite). New room had what I could only describe as body fluid stains. GM never returned my call and duty manager seemed to care less. No 'Elite' floor, but 'Elite' rooms scattered.

This property is located in downtown Monterrey and close to pier. It offers good facilities and spacious room but service is not up to 5-star standards. Weekend rate are rather expensive.

We have stayed at this hotel for quite a few years, mostly in January, we used our points, my husband is a platinum user.
In the past, we always had a bay view, once they even gave us the presidential suite, fabulous but obviously a fluke even so I would love to repeat the experience .
This time we arrived on a Wednesday for a 4 days stay, we were put in a "mountain view" another word for city with the option to be moved the next day on a newly remodeled room with the warning we might smell the new paint, we did not smell anything but we were not warned about the remodeling noice, the view was better but not what we used to have.
The next morning by 9AM the room was ready, supposedly the people had checkout early , hard to believe because the cleaning staff is usually not there that early, whatever we got a better view. The gentleman at the front desk on Thursday was definitely more helpful and pleasant that his female counterpart from the evening before , he made us feel more welcome
This hotel is downtown Monterrey , basically surrounded by streets, so do not expect a quiet room, unless you have a inside room, I rather have the view and close my window, there is also an abnoxious english pub accross,extremely noisy on week-end , it has a patio outside, nothing the hotel can do about that.
The breakfast buffet is nice, concierge very helpful, rooms are clean and since my husband is platinum, we had free wi-fi, which this days should be standard.
This is a nice hotel but it should not be a category 6

Stayed for a weekend, while getting my scuba certification. Got a decent priceline bid, and was warned of construction for room renovations. I didn't notice any renovation, although I was able to hear all of the street sounds from my window.... car radios and everything.

Regardless, I slept well. The front desk and valet parking people are all very cheerful. We had like at the minimum three people to open a door for us and 4 at the desk to welcome us some more.

I would recommend this hotel, but probably not for the rates that I saw online.
