We've been staying at the Cypress Tree Inn for about 25 years, for the 3 nights of the annual Monterey Jazz Festival. We've watched it plummet from an extremely well-run accommodation to a really terrible motel. We won't ever stay there again, and will be sure to spread the word about it to our friends.
It was dirty, with very stained carpeting. Who knows when the rug under the beds and climate control unit had last been vacuumed. There was no flusher on the toilet, which ran continuously until you manually fiddled inside the tank.
When asked about Wifi, I was told some rooms had it and some did not. We could see the Cypress logo, but the password didn't work.
The whole outside of the facility looks shoddy and poorly cared for. There are weeds coming up through the paving and dying landscaping.
I've stayed in hotels all over the world, and this is the worst place that I've ever stayed.
