We stayed here on a spontaneous driving trip, so we did not have a reservation. The Fair was on and it was Labor Day Weekend, so everything else was already booked. The hotel is in disrepair, dirty, and needs land scapping. The first room we got had stained carpet, stained sink, stained shower, and stained toilet. The door did not shut properly. The remote does not operate the TV, which is a very small 80's style. The cable did not work because the cable connection on the TV was bad. There is no air conditioning, so we plugged in a small fan, and the circuit breaker kicked off. The desk clerk sent a friend of her's, who does not even work at the hotel, to check it out.

We changed rooms. Again stained carpet, very old styling, blinds to the rear do not close properly on the ground floor. Then my wife turned over the pillow and found a large blood stain on the pillow case, Ugh!. The night clerk told me she does not inspect the rooms, and she is not responsible for housekeeping.

It was very late, we had already had a couple adult beverages at the fair, and everything else was already booked, so we settled for another room. Again stains, bad blinds, poorly cleaned and maitained. We slepped a couple hours and showered elsewhere.

Don't be fooled by the brand name, the AAA sticker (which we told them they should take down), or the location....KEEP DRIVING

The screens were broken, the carpet was filthy, and the breakfast was nonexistent ( a danish in a wrapper). The mattresses were uncomfortable, and it was miles away from the center of Monterey. Worst of all the rates were astronomical simply because it was summer in Monterey. Avoid staying here.

This hotel has gone done hill fast. This was the 3rd year we have stayed there will not stay again. First year rooms were great. Second year they were ok. This year they were terrible. Mold starting in bathroom corners. Clock radio could not set alarm. Bed sheets did not cover the bed. Frig had a noise so loud we had to unplug it and could not use it. The wyfi for computer did not work. Towels were rough and thin. The couch in lobby was dirty and stained. This was a 5 day stay for us and the room price was terrible $1196.00 and the price has gone up every year. The 1st year for the same length of time was under $l000.00. The beds were terrible to sleep on need new ones. I know that this was Pebble Beach Concourse week and all hotels hike the prices but this was terrible.

We missed the sign on the cherck in desk that stated "nof refunds after checking in and no looks prior, because, it was filthy, with mold in the bathroom and dirty carpet and old TV and very cheap towels. We left a blue tooth in the room and never got a call back after asking if it was found, of course it was.
