“Could use a little work”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 December 2007

This is an old hotel that could use some work. There was NO security chain on the door. One of the blankets had a chewed hole in it. The carpet needed a good steam cleaning. The mattresses dipped in strategic places. This is the first place I've stayed where the shampoo came in a little plastic envelope like you get ketchep in. There was a coffee pot but no coffee; fortunately, I speak a little Spanish and was able to get cofee from the room attendant. There was no thermostat we could find. There was a group of young men staying on all the floors; Sunday morning they began to leave and were shouting at each other from the decks down to the parking lot for hours. No one from the office came out to intervene which I did finally.
This was a disabled room and the bathroom was wonderful; large, clean. There were smoke alarms everywhere and I assume they work. Very nice front desk. The hotel was perfectly situated for our visit. Easy to get in and out.

Clean, Safe, Affordable, and Friendly

Referred by a friend and Stayed here while I was relocating to avoid the complications of short term sublets or expensive hotel bills. Wanted my own place and didn't want to share a room offered from many subleters.

Located in Arcadia, one of the better and safer suburbs of LA, was a major reasons why I chose this place. Oak tree in is located near a large shopping center and horse track racing (west), walmart, target (east), and food (surrounding area). I went to each of them since I wanted to avoid traffic towards downtown. Being close next to the highway was not a problem at all, there was no sounds and very quiet at night. Privacy was a plus. Large Parking spaces and clean bathrooms. Cold AC, small mini fridge, large beds, numerous lights, sofa, tv, and working table. Electronic Card Key and a secure locking device on the doors.

A nice temporary place to stay and would return again.

“Convenient and friendly”

Right on the I-210, priced like most in the area and has great staff. The rooms are a bit worn, the TV did not work; some remote buttons and all pictures had snow. The beds were uncomfortable but there is a small refridge. You have to buy coffee for the coffee maker and there was no trash can. Great free wireless and it was nearly full of guests, so I can assume it is popular for this area.

“Good location but.....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2007

My family and I stayed at the Oak Tree Inn for two nights. It was chosen for its reasonable rates and location central to our business. The Inn was also conveniently located right by the freeway on/offramps and had several restaurants nearby; the Claim Jumper is right across the street and has a take-out service.
The room was large with two queen beds, a desk, small table, two chairs and a large dresser all of which looked like they came from a thrift shop. The bed linens were the typical motel type of sandpapery sheets, stained blanket, and bedspread in a pattern to hide soil and stains. The stained carpet was so disgusting we were afraid to walk barefoot. The bathroom with toilet and shower was very clean but the towels were quite small and thin. The mirrored vanity outside the bathroom was very well lighted and handy for makeup application and use of the on-the-wall hair dryer. The in-room coffee pot was ridiculous! There was no explanation of its use or advice on where to obtain coffee until another guest told us it was available in the vending machine but, alas, it had been sold out.
The Inn did provide a "continental" breakfast: pastries, coffee, tea, and orange juice available from 6-9 a.m.
The television was ancient and had only a handful of channels available. The reception was pretty bad with service provided by a small satellite dish.
The service personnel at the reception desk, while not warm and smiley, were very helpful and accomodating. They allowed us to check in an hour early and when we found our assigned rooms were not ready they immediately gave us new rooms without hesitation.
Would I stay here again? No! Recommend it to friends or family? No!

  • Liked — The convenience of its location.
  • Disliked — The quality of the furnishings, the disgusting carpet.

“Too run down!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2006

people found this review helpful

Very run down and old. Blankets and bed spreads were full of holes. Carpet was very dirty. Pool was cold and had to tell staff to turn on heat for spa. Did not like having to pay whole week up front. Only cleaned room twice during our week stay. VERY skimpy breakfast of old doughnuts, two kinds of cereal and watered-down OJ. Did not see other families staying here and would not advise so. Maybe OK for single travelers. Rooms were quiet even though next to freeway. Poor reception and few channels on TV and all phone calls are toll. Would not stay here again.

Stayed August 2006
