“Surprisingly quiet & clean”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2007

My husband and I have stayed here twice while traveling to the Bay Area from Phoenix and will stay here again. This is the half way point for us, as we would rather not drive 750 miles in one day.

The hotel, although outdated, is clean, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet. They even advertise the quietness on their website. We had our doubts, but no longer. The included continental breakfast is just like any other hotel chain, which is acceptable.

  • Liked — clean, quiet
  • Disliked — rooms on the dark side, outdated room decor

“Lovely place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 July 2007

New hotel, very reasonably priced. Rooms are clean, comfortable and fresh, good amenities, nice reception and pool area. Mexican restaurant was great and very reasonably priced. Would definitely stay here again!

“Best Motel in Mojave or Barstow”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2006

We come to Mojave to ride our dirt bikes in the desert. We have stayed at other Mojave hotels and this is by far the best. It's quiet at night. The staff is friendly. The Mexican food is pretty good. The continental breakfast is not much, so we go to McDonalds anyway on our way to the riding area. The pool is generally cold but the spa is nice. The big attraction around here is desert riding for motorcycles, ATV's and dune buggies/Jeeps. We don't have a trailer or an RV, so we ride our bikes and head back to town at the end of the day. So for our purposes this Motel is just fine.

“Skip this town & hotel like the new freeway does”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2005

The new freeway skirts around Mojave and the town seems to be struggling, but this hotel was the highest priced one according to the AAA TourBook, so we stayed there. What a mistake. It looks very nice from the outside and the lobby area isn't bad either but the room we were given and we were told it was the "last" non-smoking room available--but funny, the parking lot was virtually empty and the hotel appeared dead. Anyway, the room was bland to say the least and it had a terrible smell, not smoke, just a terrible funky awful smell. The coffee maker didn't work and had to be replaced, the TV was stuck on "text" and the desk had to come up and fix it. The pillows were as thin as tissue paper, the beds hard as a rock. After arriving late and being tired, we just put up with it and went to bed. The next morning was even worse--the continental breakfast in what used to be their restaurant, but it apparently died like the rest of the town--was a virtual icebox (no heat at all) and the continental breakfast was some watered down OJ and an ice-cold danish that was so cold, it was hard to even cut. You had to leave your coat on to eat it was so cold in the room. Then walking out the sidewalk to get in our car you had to dodge the dog excrement was all over the sidewalk. Do yourself a favor and skip this town and definitely pass on this hotel. Drive a little farther down the Antelope Valley and stay in Lancaster or Palmdale.
