Stayed two nights at the Clarion while in town for a family memorial. (It was to be held there, or we would have stayed somewhere else) The ceilings were old "popcorn" style, with spots where the coloring was off due to water damage. In a few areas the ceiling tiles were actually hanging down. The whole hotel is built around the indoor pool and recreation area with a billiard table and arcade for the kids. In its day, I'm sure it was pretty great, but that was a couple of decades ago. Thankfully, we read some reviews before going, so opted for rooms facing the parking lot instead of the noisy pool. They were pretty quiet-which was great. The shining star was the gal in charge of the preparations and set up for the memorial service. Her name is Jocelyn-and she was awesome! Very caring and professional.
When we first got to our room-the staff called right away to see if everything was satisfactory, and they replaced a remote that wasn't working within a few minutes.
We had connecting rooms with family members and the heater in their room was extremely noisy.
The breakfast buffet was OK, with make your own waffles, scrambled eggs and potatoes in hot trays. You could also toast bagels, english muffins or plain bread, with an assortment of butter, jams and cream cheese. A nice cut above your average continental breakfast offering. WIFI is free, which was also nice. We've stayed at Clarions in San Francisco and other places, where the facility was really nice. This was run down in comparison.
