Stayed here for five days, once in Dec 06 and again in Feb 07. Rooms are average mid-range extended stay rooms. Kitchen was well equipped with pots/pans, cooking utensils, dish and flatware. Full refridgerator/freezer, dishwasher, microwave stove and oven. High speed internet worked as advertised; it's wired not wireless. The connection is at the desk, so bring a longer ethernet cable if you wish to sit on the couch while working. The chair at the desk was average. The couch was not particularly comfortable to sit on for long periods. The bathroom was average, clean and not in disrepair. However, I was very suprised by the comfort of the bed. Soft sheets and fuffy pillows and comforter. Numerous (I think 5) pillows. The room was generally clean, didn't notice anything gross. Both times the property was generally quite, never had any problems with noise. The pool was closed, they were resurfacing it, but it was winter and too cold to use at the time anyways. There are proprane grills outside that do work, great for grilling. Walk across the parking lot to the Great Mall for eating, shopping and movie theater. I would return again.

If you want to shop till you drop in San Francisco / San Jose Area, this is the best hotel to stay. It is just beside the Great Mall of Bay Area and just a short drive to many popular stores. Whats great is that the rooms is like your house, with complete kitchen amenities.

Property was clean enough - but very industrial feeling. The flourescent light bulbs did nothing to ease the feeling of being in an office rather than a hotel room.
The furniture is very cheap and tacky. The towels were extremely small, and provided sparingly.
The night clerk was friendly enough - but the morning staff was more interested in chatting and sitting at the guest use (??) internet terminal in the lobby.
My biggest gripe, however, was the maintenance man who came to our room at 10:30 to check something out (we certainly didn't call him), and then was annoyed when we wouldn't let him in. We told him that we were checking out within the next ten minutes or so - and that we were busy getting ready.
This is truly a poor man's Residence Inn ... Marriott ought to just stick with one brand of extended stay properties, and dump the TownePlace Suites brand.
Doesn't even begin to compare with Homewood Suites by Hilton.
Don't walk - RUN in the other direction.

While expectations were low for this one star extended stay I would have been totally dissatisfied if not for the Courtyard next door.

While initally pleased that the room had both a queen bed and sofabed (unclear on website) we were disappointed to find that after trying to connect to the internet for over an hour that the service was down. We were not notified at check-in.

We were forced to use the internet (1 computer no free wifi) at the Courtyard next door. This was a major inconvenience as we were not the only ones who had booked this property mainly for the internet connection as we needed to book travel arrangements.

We booked a one night stay as stopover before heading in to San Francisco and while I was able to enjoy the Great Mall from 10 am my friend was unfortunately awakened by an overzealous houskeeping staff at around 11 am to ask when we would be checking out even though the website states noon check-out and I had confirmed that with the reception while complaining about the lack of internet service.

Actually received better service from the staff at the Courtyard than at the property where I had a room.
