“Never Again!”

Pros:
1. Spacious rooms
2. Reasonably comfortable bed.
Cons:
1. Bad smell in room.
2. Stain on pillow case that went through to the pillow -- looked like blood!!! Attendant didn't seem to care, said housekeeping had already gone home. Didn't offer anything until I asked, "Can I get a new pillow?" Then she said I could come to the office and get one myself out of the supply closet.
3. Worn and scuffed furniture, door trims, closet doors, etc.
4. There is what looks like mold on the bathroom door frame.
5. Scum on shower walls.
6. First bath towel soiled. Second bath towel either soiled or stained.
7. Stains on bathroom/vanity floor tiles, and discolored (dirty?) grout.
8. Missing parts of transition piece for tile to carpet.
9. Very s-l-o-w internet connection.
10. Key didn't work the second day. Went to the office where a friendly staff person rekeyed.
11. Breakfast was in a cramped little room, maybe a converted closet??? Not very good quality, but there were some choices. Definitely not as good as the breakfasts in other nearby hotels in Merced.

I will never stay at this place again. I'm not a "hotel snob." I just like a clean, safe place. This one was severely lacking. There is no way they should have a star rating any higher than 1-star, in my opinion. Definitely not in the same class as other nearby hotels, like Holiday Inn Express (nice), Hampton Inn (nice), and Courtyard by Marriott (reasonably nice), all of which I've stayed at multiple times.

“Make sure you lock your doors”

I guess there is a bar or something in the same parking lot. All night there were people loitering in the parking lot making lots of noise. The rooms had tile floors (no carpet) which is probably a good thing for how dirty this hotel was. The breakfast was served in a converted guest room and the food was lousy. Driving across country, this is the most expensive hotel I stayed at and the absoloute worst quality.

Room Tip: Find another hotel.

“Crime Scene”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2011

When we walked into the room their was a terrible ordor. Before we left to meet friends i pulled the sheets back to check for bed bugs. What I found was just as terrible. One bed had a shoe print on the sheet. Both boxsprings were stained with various colors but the other one had a big red stain on top on box spring and running down side. I asked my husband is that blood? We purchased air freshener and sprayed the heck out of it and then left for five hours. When we returned it still smelled but I couldn't get over the dirty bed. I complained to the front desk and they changed us to a smaller room with no ordor and appeared to be clean. The whole two nights I couldn't sleep thinking what the sheets were hiding. I chose this because of location and continental breakfast. The room where this was held was a small dinghy room and after seeing how they clean the rooms we didn't eat anything especially the bread that looked close to turning blue around crust. If there was a negative circle I would choose that one. Run from this crime scene room.

Room Tip: To choose a good room, I would go to another hotel completely.

“Avoid this one”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2011

There're so many others in that area and we ended up at this filthy, smelly and plain dirty hotel. On top of that the receptionist couldn't give us directions to the location, once we were at the front desk, the clerk was on his cell phone for the WHOLE transaction!!! Of course she ended up making a big mistake, but that another story!!! Totally, completely awful experience.
