Checked into the hotel, got dinner, came back to the room and found fleas walking on the nightstand. The staff refunded my money, but it was a pain finding another room late at night.

I stay at this Motel 6 each time I visit Merced for business. Like all Motel 6 properties, it is a basic motel room without a lot of frills, but does have cable TV with a reasonable number of channels, and a clean pool to use to cool off on those hot Central Valley days. The rooms are of reasonable size and are kept very clean. I have never had any trouble with noise issues. There is a Carls Jr. next door for fast food, and a Marie Callendar's across the street where I usually grab a nice breakfast. Like all Motel 6's, you pay $3 for internet on the days you need it, which is only 1/2 the time in my case. 1-800 and local calls are free. Great value for a very low price.

This motel is fine. We arrived around 10 p.m. and they didn't say anything ( some other motels almost screamed at us). The rooms are tiny, but it was to be expected. I think that some heavy smoker used the room before us because it smelled like a cigar despite the no-smoking policy.
We didn't use the pool in the middle of the motel but it seemed fine to me.
Anyway, Merced is a little bit in the middle of nowhere, and I think that paying around 100 bucks for a tiny - cigar smelling - room there is a little bit too much.
The free-parking is, as usual with Motel 6, big enough. Internet is not free (2.99 / 24 hours) which usual with Motel 6 as well..

We were given a good Seniors Rate, USS40 incl tax. room was basic, clean,quiet. Had no fridge, or tea/coffee making facilities though coffee was available in Reception in the mornings.
