Some friends and I had a reservation at another hotel in McCloud but didn't like it. We went to the local bar/restaurant to ask for recommendations and several people there said: the Guest House. We got there but nobody was there, so called the number on the front door and within minutes the owner Alice was there showing us around. Because this was the off season, we 4 had the whole house to ourselves! The manager is a young woman named Alanna and she and her staff cooked us a wonderful breakfast every morning, asking us what each of us wanted and then actually making it for us. The rates for this great place were quite reasonable, we each paid $125/night and it was worth every penny. There are big fireplaces both upstairs and down, it almost feels like a classy lodge. And we ate out at that bar/restaurant (sorry, forgot the name) every single night. Great food and live music.
