“Should have listened to others”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2011

This place is a dump! Seems that everything in the room was from other hotels (i.e. phone still had menu from a hotel in san francisco on it) Everything was so old and worn, stains everywhere on carpet, I could've pushed through the joining rooms door to get into the one connected to us, all complimentary items such as soap and shampoo was just thrown in the ice bucket including their "display" dish. Breakfast was bread and a toaster or cheerios. Not worth the money at all. I can honestly say I've never felt uncomfortable in hotel because I'm easy to please and can overlook alot of small minor details but this place was too bad for me to even over look and I couldn't sleep in fear someone could get into our room. Oh almost forgot about the picture above our bed falling off and hitting me in the head!!! Sad because it's in a good location and would have potential if they'd put some money into it and update things Lobby looks nice but that's it. Glad we got there late and were only there long enough to sleep for one night and get out fast the next morning.

“Dishonest staff, total dive, stay next door at the Mother Lode.”

Very shady business practices, filthy rooms. I arrived late and asked for a room if they had wifi. I was assured they had wifi and check in. We got to the room and tried to connect with no success. We had sat on the bed and I washed my hands in the filthy sink. I went to the front desk to ask about the wifi, was told it does not work and it is a problem for everyone. I asked for my money back and was refused as the room had been used. From here was a 10 minute argument with the Pakistani guy who claimed he could not return our money. We could not speak to a manager as she is "in hospital" and he would lose his job if he gave us a refund. After many words were exchanged he claimed that he would pay us a partial refund out of his own pocket. I refused. I said I would call the police, his response was to flash me a badge and threaten that he is a "Police Chief in Pakistan". Many more words were exchanged and finally he gave us our money. He tried to employ many shady negotiation practices to cheat us out of money. DO NOT STAY HERE.

“Great location on the way to Yosemite.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

Passed through Mariposa on our way to Yosemite. We caught an earlier flight and arrived a day before the house we rented would be available so we needed 1 nights lodging. Mariposa is a small (absolutely adorable) town and we decided to find a motel/hotel to bed down here.

The Super 8 is on the main road near Burger King. The motel seemed to be in good repair but it's not what anyone would call luxury. However, it did serve a purpose and the rooms were clean, the bedding was clean. We needed 2 rooms and we got the last 2, so no complaints that the rooms were on different floors here. It was kind of late when we got in so the pool not being operational didn't matter. There's no room service but there are menus for delivery and the front desk called when the food arrived. The food was pretty good - we got gyro's, pizza, pasta, wings, organic salads all from the same place. Not bad.

For the price of the room I didn't expect any breakfast. So the next morning when we were going to get the paper in the lobby, the bagged grocery danish with OJ out of 2 liter bottle was nice. I grabbed some juice but the rest of the crew took off to one of the restaurants in town. All within walking distance, the town is sweet + everyone was really friendly. We checked out the shops on the main street before heading up to Yosemite and found a lot of interesting items and deals.

Nice motel, nice town. Would stay here again.

“This Place is a Health Hazard!”

Save yourself the headache and DO NOT STAY HERE! It is filthy, there is mold, the staff is rude, and the beds were not changed. I was afraid to use the covers on the bed. Once I did fall asleep, the fire alarm went off at 3am, and continued to go for 20 minuets. We decided the motel was not on fire, and good thing, because all we had was a brick wall outside our window. We also noticed that the fire department did not even show-up, so just guessing, this is pretty normal. We wanted an early start to our day in Yosemite, but, not quite that early. I will be contacting the health department and the chambr of commerce, immediately.

“Pleasently surprised, good rooms, about 1hr from yosemite, cheap”

I booked this place since everything in yosemite park was sold out. Was very happy to see the room. Breakfast runs out early. But even without it good value for money
