If it wasn't for the huge influx of Western European visitors to Yosemite National Park, the whole area would be in BIG trouble - especially the motels.
We stayed a couple of separate times recently at he Miners Inn in Mariposa. Soon our vacation home will e done so we won't be staying at motels in the area any longer, but for now we have again switched - searching for a motel in the area that is clean, provides outstanding customer service & has decent Internet speed.
The Miners Inn fails miserably on Internet speed. Lack of a thorough cleaning on in-between day (we stayed for 2 nights) was another reason we will not stay there again. Also, their buffet breakfast ends early, so we missed on that.
When I complained about the Internet, all I got was excuses. I operate an Internet business, including when we are out of town.

The fireplace hearth (we upgraded to the deluxe room) was dirty and dusty. Staff was fairly friendly - no complaints there.
We are going to try another motel next week. We like Mariposa better than Oahurst, as it is more like a gold country town and is much smaller. Be sure to eat at th
E Sugar Pine Cafe if you are in Mariposa & stop by Pony Expresso for coffee.
Room Tip: Off-season, pay the extra $20 per night for the deluxe room, especially if you are traveling for ple...
