Some good: We got a pretty good rate at this hotel on one of the travel booking sites. Our room was very large and the location was good for visiting the Marina del Rey and Venice area. The staff was pleasant and parking was free. Water pressure in the shower was good. The room was clean.
Some bad: My biggest issue was that there are not individual thermostats in the rooms. You have to call the front desk to have temperature adjustments made. This is a pain when you want to make a quick temperature adjustment during the night. My other issue might have been more an insolated problem to our room. We were by an elevator and the flooring in that section of the hall was tile so it was very noisy when anyone pulled a suitcase or cart across it. We could also hear footsteps from the room above pretty loudly.
Some dated: The decor reminded me of places I visited during my high school and college years (and that was quite some time ago). The faux wood vanity in the bathroom is almost chic again. The television was older but worked okay. Our room's carpet had a few torn/rusted places. The light fixtures, elevators and almost every other decorative element seemed in need of updating.
We are often in the area visiting family but this was our first time at this hotel. Due to its proximity to where we need to be, we might consider staying there again, But only if we could get a very reasonable rate.
