Fantastic location. Right on the beach. Incredible value for money. Free parking. Wireless internet for our teenage daughters. Cheesecake factory next door was a big plus!

Nice clean room with fridge and microwave. Picked a ground floor room which is first floor on the beach side meaning more privacy. Slghtly put off by fumes from the Cheesecake factory next door but they were only slight. Breakfast room a little small with plastic cutlery and paper crockery but good selection of cereals and tea/coffee. Breakfast was self serve and if you turned up at the wrong time there would be no seats available. Being on the beach was convenient for the children though a little busy at the weekend when there were parties taking place. Venice beach is only a short walk away where bicycles could be hired.

Stayed here for a night before taking a morning flight out of LAX. For this purpose, you can't do better -- it's just a little over a 10 minute drive to LAX, no traffic (at least in my experience driving there at 7am), and so much nicer than a bland airport hotel to wake up to sunrise over Marina del Ray.

AVERAGE
The rooms. They had a beachy feel, and if you looked one direction (toward the bed, and the patio) it looked quaint and nice, if you looked the other direction (toward the door, bathroom, and closet) it looked very spartan and dated.

CON
The breakfast. Everything was prepackaged. Would almost be better if they just knocked a couple dollars off the rate and dispensed with the breakfast.

Overall, I would recommend particularly if you're flying out of LAX. I can't say enough how beautiful it was in the surrounding environment, watching the sunrise over the marina. Also, the walk to Venice Beach is short and offers lots of restaurant options.

Stayed here for one night. We were coming in late from a cross country flight and were looking for a place close to the airport to crash. It's about 10 minutes from LAX and was easy to find. This place is a great value. Free wi-fi, free parking, and a decent complimentary breakfast. The room was very clean and even though it looked a little outdated, we thought it added to the character of the hotel. We would have liked to stay longer and enjoy the view of Mother's Beach and the Marina.
