i was very pleased with this hotel. I found the room very clean and was well organized. The staff was very helpful and made my trip enjoyable. I was very pleased with the hot breakfast and the swimming pool. I recommend this hotel to anyone visitng around Manteca and assure that you will find what you are looking for. The location is also great with the hotel being not to far from the Yosmite park and was fairly close to the airport in Sacramento. This Hotel is a must.

“Buyer Beware! Not Clean, No Comfort Here.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2008

I booked this hotel based on other reviews here. It seemed to have pretty good reviews all across the board. Other travelers seemed happy. Usually, this is a good indication of how the hotel really is. I've booked other hotel rooms based on good traveler reviews with great results. However, this time, those reviews did not match what I observed to be reality.

This place was not clean. I knew I was in trouble the minute I walked into my room. It smelled a little funny. I could hear EVERYTHING through the walls, and all the traffic on the nearby, noisy highway. If that wasn't bad enough, the bed itself was absolutely filthy. I don't normally inspect my hotel room bed this closely..... but I could tell something was wrong here:

The bottom sheet was sloppily thrown over the mattress pad and not even tucked in. I lifted up this sheet to inspect what was underneath and the mattress pad had stains all over it and was covered in various people's hair. The bedspread look old, worn and dirty. I stripped that off immediately. This prompted me to look even further, I pulled back the pillowcases on the pillows and they were also dirty and stained. The bathroom was old, outdated and not super-clean either. I was actually afraid to use the toilet, or touch any of the fixtures with my bare hands (and I'm not even a hypochondriac!)

I was so upset that I actually sat down (not on the bed) and cried for about 10 minutes. I had pre-booked this place online and had passed the time-frame for a refund. I felt trapped. It was late at night and I was a woman traveling alone in an unfamiliar area. After a 5 hour drive, I didn't have the time, resources or will power to find another hotel. So I thought I would just bite the bullet and get through the experience. BAD MISTAKE.

The creepy bed was the most uncomfortable hotel bed I've ever slept on. It gave me lower back pains so bad that my feet started cramping at about 1am. People were coming and going from the hotel all night and I could hear everything. Furthermore, I never felt safe, comfortable or secure here. I couldn't relax at all and therefore was only able to sleep for about 2 hours that night. Finally, at about 5:30 am I was so upset and frustrated that I actually grabbed my car keys and went to my car. I locked myself in, and stretched out in the back seat of my car. FINALLY I felt relieved and comfortable and slept one of my hours in my own car!!!!!!!! I would have been better off spending the whole night out there in my vehicle.

That is how bad this "Comfort Inn" is. Trust me, you really are safer in your own vehicle than you are in this place. This place was not worth what I paid for it. I wasn't happy until the moment I checked out and drove away at 7am.

  • Liked — Leaving it.
  • Disliked — The Bed, it was the filthiest I've ever seen.

“Very good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2007

Spent one night in Manteca on my way to Yosemite and found the Comfort
Inn to be very comfortable and fairly priced. The front desk person was extremely helpful, the room was typical motel style but spotless clean, the complimentary internet connection and abundant breakfast were very much appreciated. I would not hesitate to recommend it.

“Nice, Convenient Stop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2007

Stopped overnight on a trip out to Yosemite.

Even though we arrived rather late, the front desk was open and attended. Check-in was easy and we found parking and our room easily.

The room was a decent size with a king bed and the sink with a large counter outside of the bathroom, which is always a key for me when traveling with friends (one person in the bathroom doesn't tie up the whole works in the morning).

We didn't do much other than sleep, and we skipped the free breakfast in the morning, opting instead to pick up something on the way. The bed was comfortable and the heat did work, though it was a tad noisy.

They had free WiFi Internet access, which allowed us to check road conditions and routes in the morning before heading out. Very handy and helpful.

Checkout was simple and smooth. They couldn't add my frequent flyer number to the reservation after we had checked out, which was a bother, but otherwise, everything was fine.

This is a great location, just off of 120, one of the main highways from San Francisco out to Yosemite, and it was located at the right distance away to shorten the drive in the morning. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone going to Yosemite along the same route.

  • Liked — Very convenient, just off of the highway to Yosemite
  • Disliked — Second floor room with no elevator; noisy a/c-heat unit

The is a somewhat dated motel, but very nicely maintained and clean. Bed comfort was average and room was average in furnishings and decor. Breakfast buffet was abundent and tidy with fresh choices. For the money, this is a great place to stay in Manteca.

  • Liked — Fresh Breakfast buffett
  • Disliked — bathroon was very dated
