“Filthy, noisy”

I had to stay here almost 3 weeks for training for a job. It is NOT worth the price being charged. I have to wear shoes or slippers anytime I'm walking in the room - the carpet/floor are filthy; my feet were black. The room had a musty odor and I had to put up with "remodeling" being done 12 hours a day. Too bad I didn't get one of those "remodeled" rooms. The electricity kept resetting and lights would turn off for no reason; there's obviously an electricity problem. Front desk staff was not helpful regarding these problems; putting them off to others. The jacuzzi was broken (with no sign indicating this) and construction workers took up parking spots that should have been for residents. This hotel is about 3 miles to the very crowded Manhattan Beach - not walkable - and the streets are super-busy 24/7 with traffic. I recommend staying further north.

“Good location, clean place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

We stayed there for 6 nights in September 2010. It is a mile walking to Manhattan Beach in a very safe and nice area, we had a room with full kitchen, very clean and quiet. You need a car to visit LA but it worth for the peaceful and safe area this hotel is.

“Nice improvements, nice place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

We had stayed at this property about a year earlier. We were booked elsewhere for this visit as we weren't real pleased with our stay the year before. Our unhappiness with the earlier stay was the result of extremely rude loud guests, not the hotel itself. We switched back to this property after one night, due to the concrete jungle feel of the other property. Though the hotel is undergoing much needed renovations, this stay was so much better. Sure the hotel is outdated, but does it really matter if the property is clean, comfortable and a good value. Its not as though you are living at the property, rather just staying a few days during your visit to the area. The noise level issues we had experienced during our earlier stay were non-existant during this stay. It was wonderful to be able to sleep at night. The flat screen was a nice addition as well as the additional viewing choices. Thank you for adding to the extremely limited viewing choices that had existed a year ago. The location of the hotel is ideal. A short drive to Manhattan Beach pier and downtown. The local Target is right next door, making shopping very convienant. The kitchen is well stocked, making a nice dinner after a day at the beach is quite easy. The room we stayed in had a fireplace which was awesome as it did get quite cool at night. Walgreens is a block north and sells bundles of firewood. The breakfast had a great selection. The day we checked out really good yogurt parfaits were available at the breakfast bar. Nice healthy touch to the breakfast bar. Thank you. No complaints, I think one would be hard pressed to find another property that is better in the area. We would definitely stay at this property again.

Room Tip: Manhattan Beach has bonfire pits to the north available.

“LAX to TLV”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

Heading back to Israel from So Cal. Great place to rest and to get ready for the long trip back. There is a lot off stores to pick up things in the State that we can get in Israel for a good price or at all. Very easy to drop off the rental car in the morning. Rooms were clean. It was the perfect setup for me and my two daughters two room suite with King at the same price as two queen in a room at the other hotels around. Breakfast was good but a little crowded.

Room Tip: Two room suite is worth it.

“Very comfortable suites; Staff is awesome”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

I liked this place. The suites are nothing to write home about, but the bed was very comfortable and it's hard to argue with a nice hot shower. Plus, free wireless is available in the suites. The staff is really great, and the free breakfast is pretty darn good. This location just started renovating all their suites, and they're supposed to be done by summer, but that seems a little overly optimistic. If you're a day sleeper, you probably don't want to be there during renovation as the construction noise would drive you crazy. I was able to walk from the Inn to the Manhattan Beach pier. It was a long walk (about 2 miles) but at least I didn't have to drive around looking for parking! My company also used their meeting room for a two day conference and they were very good accommodating our business needs.
