“We keep coming back!”

Our family first discovered Sea Pines about 15 years ago, and have stayed there at least 10 times since then. And no, I'm not an employee of the resort! We do play golf, and the executive length course is perfect for us.

When we first started playing and staying here, the course was lined with the pines for which it was named. Unfortunately, many of the trees succumbed to some kind of blight or insect. They have planted a lot of new trees since then.

We have always found the staff to be helpful and friendly and the buildings and grounds to be well maintained. The view of Morro Bay from the golf course is wonderful! It's kind of like a poor man's Pebble Beach. While the place may be difficult to find the first time, it is an easy drive over to Morro Bay and about 20 minutes from San Luis Obispo. We have no hesitation recommending Sea Pines.

“Excellent hotel”

Stayed for 2 nights as we visited family in Los Osos. The room was clean and spacious with a stunning view of Morrow Bay. There were several nice walks right out the door which we enjoyed. The room lacked a small fridge which would have been a nice addition. I'd happily stay there again.

“Basic motel. Only game in town”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2009

It is almost guaranteed that ecstatic reviews were written by hotel staff. This is a serious problem with all hotel reviews. This one is no exception. Now back to reality. Los Osos--beautiful little town. Loved the idyllic bay. Didn't play golf, so can't comment on that. The hotel --think basic barebones old-ish motel. In my room the two armchairs were worn and heavily stained, Bathroom, sinks and bed linen were clean. The TV was a 14-inch joke. Internet worked intermittently. Try to get a room facing the bay rather than the golf course. Grass-cutting machine guy starts his infernal racket at 8AM sharp. Every morning. Don't except a hotel and will not be disappointed.

“Fun Central Cal Coast Secret”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 June 2009

Quiet little resort in a quiet little town. Well maintained grounds. The nine hole executive course is well kept and fun - perfect for couples or families not too serious about their golf. Los Osos is an odd town for the central coast- it's not a tourist trap. I think Sea Pines is about the only hotel in town. The good news is the Clubhouse at Sea Pines is a good enough bar & grill with reasonable prices, so you don't have to go into town for every meal. The resort gives out free vouchers for a good local gym. The people at Seapines are helpful & friendly. We had a great three night stay. About the only downside was our non-smoking room had been sealed up for a while when we got there, and smelled like it had been a smoking room sometime in the past. We bought a scented candle & left the fan on and the problem went away on the second day.

“Basic lodging”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 February 2009

I came to Los Osos to attend a class for a week; my husband came along to relax. The name "Golf Resort" is a bit of a stretch, though. The rooms are spread around the property in several very ordinary looking 2-story frame buildings. Our room was spacious and clean, but with deferred maintenance. The resort promises free internet in the rooms. For the first 4 days, it worked inconsistently. For the last 4 days, it didn't work at all (the front desk said maybe the rain was the problem!!). In 2009, that is unacceptable.
There is a 9-hole golf course and sports bar/restaurant with the property and some of the rooms have nice views out over Morro Bay. The upstairs rooms have a balcony which runs the length of the building; it is not private.
If you want to or need to stay right in Los Osos, this is about your only option. Baywood Park and Morro Bay are close and San Luis Obispo is only 10 miles away.
