My wife and I went on a 42 day road trip throughout Canada and the USA, travelling over 7000 miles. This hotel was by far the worst experience in accomodations that we stayed in. Their website it totally misleading, which makes the place look like Shangri La. The room was extremely outdated, having a bed mattress of at least 30 years old, the air unit was very noisy, and the room door did not close tightly, allowing cigarette smoke to enter into the room from smokers outside. The breakfast consisted of a juice box and a packaged danish. Do not waste you money, stay clear. By the way, they charged $120.00 plus tax US currency, for this dump.

Old, and run-down I can deal with. Few and poor amenities I can handle. A sticking door to our room that required training to open, I can get over. But when I find out that they know about a circuit breaker that goes out four or five times a day, shutting off the electrical outlet at the head of my bed (which occured at 12:30 a.m., shutting off my CPAP machine for the night, preventing me from sleeping....the office is closed after 11:00 p.m., so I had nowhere to turn to), and shutting down the only ice machine in the place, that is simply unacceptable. Worse still was the response from the desk-person when I advised him of the situation (which I uncovered after inquiring about the ice-machine, etc.) and he simply said "sorry" as he handed me my paid bill. So bad was the service that a stranger in the lobby at the time of this exited with me and said "pretty weak apology for what you experienced". Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else, I will.

This is a great place to stay if you need a nice but not elegant room, great location right in the middle of town, and at a reasonable price, especially in comparison to the area. This was my first time here on leisure, have been before on business, always very nice. The value for the money is excellent!

Stayed here for a couple of nights last summer when attending an event in Santa Cruz. Actually it's called the Los Gatos Motor Inn. All the good motels in Santa Cruz seen to double their price by August, so I looked for something nearby and found this hidden gem. Prices were great and the room was fine. While not big and lacking some amenities, it was not the smallest room I have stayed in, and it did have a small fridge. The area was quiet even though the motel was next to a road near exits to both north and south of town. This was very convenient for me since it got me on the hwy to Santa Cruz quick that evening (after a nightmarish afternoon driving through East Bay traffic), and to San Jose the next morning where I did some shopping. Los Gatos is laid out rather oddly, so I did not realize at first that the Motor Inn is actually near their historic and touristy part of town, which I visited that second afternoon. The morning that I was about to leave the motel, an older man fell in the parking lot as he was re-entering his room. I went to the check-in counter to find help, but no one was there at the moment. Upon returning, I found several of the staff were attending to the man. It was nice to see cleaning ladies and groundskeepers so concerned with a guest's well-being. Speaking of groundskeepers, the grounds around the motel are beautiful, as a previous poster said. Overall, staying at this motel was a positive experience.
