This hotel is in a great location, right of the 405 and at the base of the mountain on which the Getty Center rests. It has a nice pool, small but nice exercise room, little extra amenities and clean, very satisfactory rooms. Was previously a Holiday Inn. Now upgraded and well maintained. The staff at the desk could be friendlier but the parking attendants were great! Very good restaurant and room service too! A small cafe in the lobby for coffee, pastries, etc. plus free wine every afternoon.

We stayed two nights recently 12/22/11 and 12/23/11
We were placed in a room with feces coming up into the bathtub
Hotel moved me to a different room where the connecting room had a heavy smoker. The smoker said nothing was posted in the room or lobby.
We also had dinner and two of our party had what appeared to be bad food handling?? they were sick.
Hotel still has no lobby or room posting about non smoking rule.

This is a great boutique hotel located right off the 405 freeway. Close to Westwood, Beverly Hills and Santa Monica.Very nice rooms with comfortable beds. There is a nice pool area with an outdoor fireplace. They have a bar and lounge on the top floor with a pretty cool view, but it does get busy at night time. Front desk staff and all the other employees were amazing, very helpful and welcoming.
My wife and I only stayed there for one night but we do plan on going back.

LA, based on my brie experience, is largely flat plains of tract housing with strips of retail in between. To the north are Hollywood Hills, and nestling at the base of them; bordered by Sunset Boulevard and the '405' freeway is the Hotel Angeleno.
The area around the hotel is pretty much Los Angeles standard (freeways and construction), but that only increases the pleasure of arriving. Everything is ordered, quiet, elegant and efficient.
That's it really. If you want to spend your honeymoon here, don't (it's no place for romantic walks): but if you need to visit UCLA, are looking to tour the city and area, taking a special someone for a quiet weekend locked in your hotel room with each other it is perfect.
The restaurant is lovely, the staff are lovely, the facilities are great and, for some reason completely unknown to me, there is a ritual glass of sparkling wine in the restaurant at sunset (honest).
Enjoyed my time there very much.
