It took me a long time to find a nice affordable hotel around Venice Beach/Santa Monica. But, look no further, this hotel is it!

The hotel is in the middle of Venice Beach with the hippy/rock thing going on. A loved the experience! The hotel is right next to the beach and the rooms are very modern, clean and provide a nice view (recommended).

Downside, one night there was VERY loud music coming from the bar on the roof. Might be worth to ask when they have things planned so you can work around it. I couldn't sleep because of it.

I stayed with my 2 young children, and the room as clean, spacious enough, and the location was fantastic - a few feet from the beach AND a great playground! There are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Staff was helpful, though since it is the beach there is a laid-back vibe. Nice views from rooftop bar. We booked a suite so we would have a kitchenette plus a little more room for the kids, which was great.

I was very favorably impressed with the experience at the Hotel Erwin this past weekend. From the moment of checking in, the staff were pleasant, helpful, and energetic. My room wasn't ready, so they put me in one of their suites, which was as large as an apartment. I loved the clean-but-funky aesthetic of the decor (not the bland, antiseptic feel of the other high end LA beach hotels). When the internet was down on Sunday morning for a short time, front desk manager Chip called me as soon as it was back up, and offered me a late check out to compensate for the trouble. They also kept my car in their parking after check out until I was ready to leave the area. The roof top bar is a very cool way to experience the frenetic energy of the Venice boardwalk. All in, I can't imagine a better place to stay in Venice or Santa Monica.

My wife n I were on the westside of LA n need a place to stay so we decided to give Hotel Erwin a call n see if they could accomodate us. They did n I have to say that our experience, for the 2nd time, did not disappoint. We got a great room with an amazing of of the ocean, santa monica pier, as well as santa monica. The service was excellent, my wife had accidently burned her hand earlier in the day n it began hurting her in the middle of the night n all I had to do was call the front desk n they sent up some burn/first aid spray to alleviate the pain. Would definitely recommend this hotel to all who are looking for a fun.cool,hip, centrally located hotel on the westside.
