The front desk staff was quite pleasant and talked us into upgrading our room for an additional $30 a night. The upgrade was worth it...our 2 1/2 year old loved the bunk beds, insisted on eating at the desk in her alcove, stored her toys in the chest of drawers, and was mesmerized by her own personal giant TV! The step stool in the bathroom was a nice touch and made it easy for her to wash her hands all by herselft too. Ralph's Grocery Store is within walking distance so we kept snacks in our fridge. Our only two complaints: the gift shop was supposed to open daily at 9AM (we're Diet Coke drinkers & the soda machines were out hence the need for the gift shop) and the two times we showed up at 9AM it wasn't open yet and the bar didn't open until 4:30 so you could only get beer and wine in the restaurant. No liquor until 4:30. :-( We could hear the highway noise, but got used to it after the first night; however, it was very loud with the patio door open. The pool area was really nice and I'm assuming it was heated because we often saw people swimming day and night. We had one of the best hamburgers and chicken sandwiches we've ever eaten at the hotel's restaurant! If you want church on Sunday that's not a problem because there's a non-denominational service that congregates on Sunday. Overall this is great value and has all the amenities and then some you would expect at a 4 star hotel! Would definitely recommend and stay here again; however, I hope we don't visit LA again any time soon because the traffice was TERRIBLE!
Room Tip: if you have kids you MUST get the kid's suite with bunk beds

So glad to hear you enjoyed your upgraded room. Our KidSuites are very popular and often is booked up for much of the year, glad you had an opportunity to experience it. I appreciate your comments about the Boutique and have already discussed the importance of opening as posted. As a Diet Coke fan myself, I personally understand your need. We are also delighted to hear you enjoyed your visit to Tula’s; our Chef does make a great burger. The menu has recently been redesigned and we are happy to hear your favorable comments. Yes, LA is a town that enjoys their cars and can make for some challenging traffic at times…we often refer to how long it takes to get places, not the distance because of the congestion, but there are so many great things to do in LA that makes coping with traffic worth it. Hope to see you back soon.
