“We would definitely stay here again”

A friend recommended this hotel to us, we stayed for 9 nights and were very happy overall. Our check in was made very easy by the friendly and efficient receptionist, Hope. We paid extra for use of the Regency Lounge and enjoyed the breakfast, coffee, canapés and all day soft drinks available there. The staff in the lounge were great as were the staff throughout the Hotel in general. Good pool area. Starbucks in lobby and Earth Bar (fabulously healthy and delicious smoothies) in the Equinox Spa. So convenient for the great shopping mall a 2 minute walk away. Cinema and numerous good restaurants there too. Only negatives are the slightly stuffy smell in the rooms (could this stem from old vacuums)? Also, although the beds are comfortable, the way they are made by sandwiching the duvet between 2 sheets is a little weird and the bottom sheets on the bed were too small and a little uncomfortable as they never stayed tucked in. Minor grumbles over, we have stayed in a number of more luxurious and expensive hotels in LA but this is certainly now our favorite. We will be back.

“FANTASTIC L.A. HOTEL”

I stayed at this lovely hotel, while attending a convention and would definitely return. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and looked very recently renovated. The balcony offered a fantastic view of the city, especially at night. It's in an excellent location, right next to Westfield mall for some amazing shopping, good restaurants and a grocery store. Rodeo Drive and Beverly Hills is a very short drive away. The hotel also has an excellent pool and would appeal to both families, couples and business travelers alike. There's a Starbucks on the property, and great restaurants. It truly is gem with EXCELLENT customer service and amenities. A MUST STAY IN LA :)

“Big Hyatt Hotel in LA”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

I stayed at The Hyatt for a week . Its a big hotel with lots of rooms & lots of activity going on in the lobby. The rooms are pretty good , spacious & fairly clean. Staff is friendly , specially the concierge staff is very helpful & they get you all the information & good deals for different activities. Very personalised attention to detail by the concierge.

The hotel has a great outdoor patio bar where you could relax and have a drink. Just a short walk away is the Century City Mall where there are lots of shopping & dining options. One of them i would highly recommend is The Pink Taco. Its a kinda Mexican Hard Rock Cafe type of place. Great decor and amazing food & drinks.

Sunset Boulevard & all the Hollywood attractions are a short cab ride away. Overall a great hotel to stay.

“Nice Location...But Rooms Need to Be Updated!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

I normally don't write reviews but I had to on this hotel stay because I took great and extreme efforts on selecting a hotel for my family of 4 during the Christmas Holiday. And when I say I took great measures, I searched months in advance because I am very picky and somewhat of a "germ" freak when it comes to residing in hotels. Now before I go on I have to say the location of this hotel is great, close to shopping, valet service was prompt, and the staff was very warm and welcoming which you want and expect all those things right? At least from an above average Hotel Chain. But what I expect more is a comfortable and clean room, especially when your duration stay is 5 days. We had 2 rooms with a balcony and both rooms were outdated something awful. Bed sheeting was worn out meaning there were fuzz balls all over our throw blanket, desk/writing table and night tables were very dusty. The carpeting was old and worn out and was even tearing in some areas. The bathroom needed serious updating from the door to the tub.
The door barely closed all the way as it was wood damaged at the bottom and the bathtub was over-caulked too much with mildew just peeking through. A nasty bathroom just creeps me out.

If it were up to me I would have checked into another hotel but the guests I was traveling with didn't want to go through the transition.
But again, the location and staff were super awesome, just not sure if that outweighed our room condition!

I will return once I read they've did some updates to the rooms

Room Tip: Having drinks at the bar was nice. Good service

“Very nice hotel, but....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

My husband and I stayed at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza from 01/12 to 01/15 of 2012. The hotel is beautiful and the staff was very friendly. The location is great and convenient to Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive, etc. We had a very large, clean room with a nice balcony (which faced the street and was a bit noisy with the doors opened), however, our shower was disgusting! For a hotel like this, I was shocked to see black mildew and dirt in the grout, on the tiles and on the shower door tracks. My husband and I were afraid to shower in there (good thing we brought shower shoes!). Also, we paid $10.00 for 24-hour Wi-Fi access that was slow as molasses!

Overall, we would definitely stay there again, but if we got a room with a disgusting shower again, we would definitely have to request that someone clean it (which we probably should have done on this stay, but oh well....) before we used it.

Room Tip: Choose a corner room...very large!
