I needed a place to stay urgently as my preferred accommodation suddenly became unavailable. After a short internet search this place seemed reasonable and very affordable. I wanted a pool as my partner would be alone during the day for a few days. And the location was desirable. I actually rang and made my booking and everything seemed fine. Apon arrival I noticed that the spot where I thought the pool would be was dug up and men were working with jack hammers. I immediately asked the man booking us in and he rudely informed us that they were renovating and that there was no pool. I asked him why the pool was still on their website, and also why I wasn't informed when I rang the day before, I was informed that I should have asked about the pool and received a rude shrug. It was too late to move elsewhere. The room was worst than I thought for a hotel at this price. It was reasonably clean. The bathroom was horrible with tiles missing, a strange smell and the shower grubby. On the second night we returned to the room late in the evening to find that the room had been serviced but no towels had been left out. I rang reception and was rudely told to come down and they would be given. I did that and was questioned about whether the do not disturb sign had been left out and therefore the room had not been serviced. When I explained that the room had been serviced and that the sign had not been left out, I was again rudely told that he would check with house cleaning in the morning and that I would be charged if it was not correct. Unbelievable!! I would never stay here again and recommend that it be avoided at all costs. There is plenty of nearby accommodation nearby.

After getting this motel assigned to us on hot-wire we were very worried and tried to change to a different one. When we got there the motel was fine, the staff were friendly and called taxis for us, moved us to a different room when we asked because we wanted a fridge, the rooms were clean enough and there were no bugs. Location is great to get to all the main parts of Hollywood. If we would have read the reviews first we would not have picked this place but it was decent enough and great value. Don't be put off by the bad reviews.

When I book this hotel, I asked for a non-smoking room and they gave me a room that smelled smoke terribly... In the beginning they did not want to change my room and told me that it was a non-smoking room, but eventually they did. The new room was OK, but I had very noisy neighbors! Thin walls are one thing but there was a group of teenagers talking and laughing outside at around 3 am! Also, our room was worn out, especially the bathroom... The only thing about this hotel is its location.

My boyfriend and I wanted to get away for a 2-day stay in LA. I had the points and wanted to save money for this mini-getaway so I chose the Econo Lodge in Hollywood. Good idea just not a good hotel.
The customer service from the front desk was almost non existent. The room was very cheap and the bathroom was ridiculous! The tile in the shower was decaying and peeling off and there wasn't even an outlet in the bathroom.
The bed was comfortable and I loved the firm pillows though.
I saw the housekeepers who I felt sorry for because they had to work at this hotel. My quick interaction with them was nice though.
I want my points back! :-(
