“Perfect location”

We stayed only one night here before flying out from LAX for Christmas holiday. The place is perfectly located by the beach and a short walk from everything going on in Venice. The room we had was tiny, but as it was one night, we didn't care. The breakfast is really great, free bagels and fruit. Also you can eat it on the roof terrace while staring at the waves. There is a free computer with internet and printer, so we could easily check in before flying. All in all I wish to be back soon for a little longer stay.

Room Tip: We had no sea view, next time I would choose a room with that.

“Excellent location, wonderful beachfront hotel.”

My husband and I just spent one week at Venice On The Beach. We came to visit our daughter Amanda who is an attorney and recently moved to Venice Beach. The hotel is just a few blocks from her apartment and the location is perfect. The hotel is located on the boardwalk near the Venice pier. I enjoyed staying in the quiet section of Venice beach. The hotel is a short walk from the vendors and street perfomers and just around the corner from great restaraunts and coffee houses. The hotel is small, clean and comfortable. Greg, the manager has done a great job renovating this hotel. The rooms are small but have everything that you need. Our room had hardwood floors, a very comfortable bed, big screen TV, microwave, refrigerator and a small but very clean bathroom. The shower stall was big and beautifully tiled. What was so impressive was that the water pressure was so strong and we always had hot water, anytime of the day or night. Sometimes this is an issue at hotels. The continental breakfast was very good, cereal, juice, bagels, fresh fruit, tea and coffee. The outdoor patio and rooftop deck were beautiful. The location is perfect for riding bikes, walking to the Santa Monica Pier and enjoying all there is to do in Venice. We will definitley recommend this hotel to friends in Chicago who plan to visit the Los Angeles area. My husband and I will stay here again in the future when we visit our daughter. Greg was very nice and helpful and always available to the guests.

“Bliss”

We arrived at Venice On The Beach after getting off the plane in LA and having a harrowing drive (right side of the road!?) from the airport. Seeing us stagger in and our evident sleep depravation, the manager very kindly said he would have our rooms made up early (4 hours ahead of the agreed 2pm check in) so we could rest.
We parked the car in the back alley (the hotel has a few allocated parks but there is also on street parking) and took a walk down to the beach (ie. about 15m across the road) while we waited.
Venice On The Beach is in a very laid back stretch of the promenade. Far enough away from the noise and chaos of the main drag to be peaceful, yet close enough to walk to anywhere of interest.
The rooms are small but very clean and the beds are VERY comfortable. There is no air-conditioning, but you can open the windows for the sea breeze and there is a ceiling fan and heater.
There are 2 courtyard areas so that you can enjoy the privacy of the hotel outside your room. One is a great spot on the roof, the other is a fantastic long courtyard looking across the promenade to the water. I highly recommend walking up the the convenience store, grabbing a 6 pack of Sierra Nervada and some beer nuts and sitting in the courtyard to watch the sunset (and the people go past!). This behaviour is encouraged!!
Also, breakfast of bagels, cereal, filter coffee, juice and fruit is provided DIY style in the corridor. BONUS!

“bellissimo, but with a few tiny flaws”

Absolutely fantastic location situated directly on the beach and bike trail that goes north to Will Rogers State Park, all the way south to Torrance. Bike rental spots all along trail. Exactly what I was looking for. Greg (Mr. Manager!) was always extremely helpful with maps and advice. The room was quite tiny; however adequate for one person. No closet but a rack with hangers, so you could park those suitcases underneath the bed. As a short person (5"2) my feet touched the footposts, so anyone taller might be cramped in that bed. Please note that you will get a restful sleep with the tempurpedic mattresses. Very handy microwave and refrigerator in the room, as well as free computer and printer available in the hallway next to breakfast nook. Yummy fresh fruit, bagels, coffee, tea, and cereals were actually available all day, a godsend for those late-nite munchies! The only real downside was all that mold around the jacuzzi. Somewhat unpleasant, but overall did not detract from this wonderful hotel. And yes, I will recommend this property to all friends and family.

“Plein de charme dans un cadre magnifique”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2011

A extremely nice and quite location and a tremendous view over the ocean : but just select room with ocean view otherwise likely disappointing ! The building is quite old and really charming. Some heavy refurbishing is under going which will improve the global comfort : heating was very poor although efficient, room #9 bathroom was downgraded by some water, ...
Decoration is really adequate to atmosphere and rooms are en-lighted by the sun and ocean view.
Breakfast / coffee and snacks are ready all day along and you can get it at any time you want : it is simple but really delightful to get it on the terrace !
Welcome is warmful and well organised.

Room Tip: select room #10 : this is a nicer view than #9 ! We experienced both.
