This is a nice diamond in the rough hotel with a wonderful rooftop bar/restaurant and pool. The rooms are a bit pricey considering the neighborhood but the hotel is urban and chic.

I struggled with this review. There are things I loved about this property, but there are quite a few things that annoyed me. So I'll list the pro's and the cons that I noted so that people can decide for themselves. The overall hotel is very nice and staff are friendly, its the "peripheral" things that got to me.
Pros:
- The rooms and bathrooms are VERY nice. This hotel is obviously very new.
- Bed was very comfortable
- There is a safe and small fridge (very practical) in the room
- The parking attendants would always get my car fast as lightening
- If you are in the area for business ; the location is very convenient
Cons:
- Come 6:30-7pm till 11pm Internet is slow and unusable. More bandwidth is needed
- There is no gym. (However, they give you a pass for a gym +-8 minutes walk away)
- I went for breakfast (apparently it was included with my room) early twice and there was no one there! I ended up going to the McDonald's next door.
Overall, this property is nice and can be very good if they can sort out some kinks.
The hotel is very small, hard to find and not in a good location. It can work for business travel, but definitly not for vacation or families. The restaurant and bar in the roof has a great view and young people, but the food almost sent my son to the hospital... Asked for a breakfast at the room that never came, but was imediatly charged. It's not a hotel for vacation or families, maybe a good one for couples or single people. I have to recognize it's new and modern, with good amenities and wifi.
Spent 5 days over Christmas 2011 in the Junior Suite w/ King Bed. Bed was very comfortable as was the entire room and its set up. The decor is fresh, w/ clean lines. We traveled w/ my 6 year old and he too was quite comfortable sleeping on the couch. Media centers quite convenient in living room and bedroom (was able to plug in multiple laptops, cell phones, ipad simultaneously, etc) View out to the Hollywood sign was very pretty. Rooftop pool/lounge was very welcoming and the fact the pool was only 3.5 feet deep = my son could swim alone while we watched from a comfortable, kinda swanky table just a couple of feet away enjoying refreshments. Is walking distance from the the LaBrea tar pits as well as several restaurants, Starbucks and a wonderful cafe kiddie corner for breakfast. Staff friendly, courteous and helpful. Do check your bill though - we were charged for 5 days of parking - we had no car - but once the mistake was pointed out, very quickly rectified by the staff. Would love to stay there again.
I was surprised at how mundane and ordinary it was. I thought I was paying for a fun, hi- energy, large, modern, cool hotel, (price-wise I was) but when I got there the hotel was small, dark and quiet. I cut my toe on the shower, a badly rendered edge to a tile, and no apology or sympathy was offered. Lucky I'm a non litigious Brit. Bed was good. Neighbourhood dull.
Reception staff bordering on rude.
Disappointing.
