“It's Alright”

The El Patio Inn located in Studio City California is your generic basic motel. Its located about 10 mins driving time from the nearest train station with access to Hollywood and also is about a 10 min drive to Universal Studios where once you arrive there your required to pay to park but the motel says its close by. All and all the room was normal basic with bed and shower and sink and toilet. Nothing special to say about this place except there seemed to be a few people outside during the entire time enjoying some herbal drugs. So if your gonna stay here make sure to bring a breath mint and get ready to walk and walk and walk. But hey there is a 7-eleven down the street so you can visit there to get back to some sense of society.

We booked our travel through Priceline, which is supposed to secure a room for 2 people for the price you pay. We get there and "Anna" told us that it was going to be another $210 for the second guest. Now we didn't request anything special or a special type of room. All we did was show up and tell her we wanted to check in. We called priceline, informed them of what she was trying to do as well as the 2.50 a day charge to use WATER... they called her and she denied EVERYTHING that she had told us. We went back into the tiny office area and asked for our registration card back because we weren't going to pay another 210 on top of what we had already paid for on priceline. She pushed the card further under the desk and said "I just can't do that". We then said "We don't plan on staying here, please give us our information card back, you don't need it." She then turned to us and said "You're on camera, [--]!" and walked into her home/office whatever it is. She is now not returning calls to priceline to refund our money and refuses to talk to us to work it out. We're now in the process of filing a claim in court to get our money back. Do not stay here unless you like to be overcharged and spoken down to. There are 10x's better hotels within a 5 minute drive that are cleaner and MUCH nicer!

“Big, quiet room, excellent location and value”

I actually really liked this place. My boyfriend and I stayed here a few months ago.

This hotel is very small, with one little parking lot and all the rooms surround it. Check in was easy and the woman at the desk was nice.

The rooms are very nice and different than a standard hotel room. They have a 50s charm to them which I love. For the cheap price, the room is large and has a tv, air conditioner, fridge, and microwave. There's also a tv, table and chairs, dresser with a mirror, and a comfy bed. The internet was pretty expensive though, $10 a day.

The location is excellent. It's right on Ventura blvd in Studio City. There's tons of food and shopping and the tv/movie studios are a few minutes away.

My only complaint is about the bathroom. The floor and shower seemed dirty and the shower took forever to warm up, but that wouldn't turn me off from this place. I would definitely stay again.

For only $80 in this area it's an excellent value. If you want luxury you're going to have to pay more.

“Avoid this place”

DO NOT STAY HERE. What a rip-off.
I made a reservation for three night over the phone because the phone rate was $40 LESS than Expedia's.
I secured the first night with my credit card as requested.
When I arrived, they could not find the reservation.
They gave me a room but charged me $12 more than the price I'd been quoted over the phone. The clerk couldn't look me in the eye but told me to talk to the manager the next morning.
He had assured me I had the room for three nights.
The next morning they said they were "full" the next two nights and I had to leave. I was furious.
The manager said I should have paid for the room in advance via credit card for three nights. I said, "Why didn't you tell me that when I made the initial reservation?" She couldn't answer.
The place was shabby anyway - dinky room, hair dryer didn't work, no drinking glass, paper-thin towels, bad lighting, old air conditioning unit up by the ceiling and hard to reach to adjust.
I left. I drove by later and they had the "vacancy" sign out. So much for being "Full."
DO NOT STAY HERE.

The Gentelmen did not want to pay in advance & this property has only 16 rooms and during the busy season we do our best to accomodate everyone, however if a guest does not checkout as scheduled we can not evict them from the room!
That is why reservations are avalable.

Check in 06/07/2008 and checked out the same day. I was told my hummer was not park straight enough. When I went to move the truck the manager Anna locked me out of my room #14. I had to call lapd in order to get back in the room to get my belongings and the still charged me $96.90 for the room on my credit card. Anna the manager has 2 dogs who barked the whole time that I was there and I am fight for a refund. Anna the manager ever refuse to give her last name or forward any calls of mine to there corp. office. Do not stay here unless you want to be scammed! This is the worst experience ever! LSC

This lady showed up mid day and rented the room & took the key and at 2am her son (underage) and the girfriend show up after the Prom and try to check in, the Manager on duty did not let them in the room and the mother was upset about that.
