If you want a rustic old hollywood feel this is your place. its NEW but has an old romantic feel to it. A cool surprise awaits you in every room, i don't want to spoil it by saying what it is though! The place is very quiet too. much better than the adjacent W hotel party scene. Restaurant below is very nice.

Room Tip: the ones facing an apartment building (with the not so great views) are the largest. I preferred. us...

“Wonderful Hollywood Experience”

My wife and I stayed at The Redbury for one night over the winter holidays and truly enjoyed the experience. If you can imagine being given the keys to your wacky Hollywood friend's apartment, that's what staying at The Redbury is like. The rooms are beautifully appointed and very hip. One of our favorite amenities was the record player in the room. Nothing beats drinks with friends while listening to Otis Redding on vinyl. Highly recommended and we are very excited to return.

Room Tip: We are from a rural area and requested a quiet room. They were very accommodating to our request an...

“Absolutely the coolest hotel in LA!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Absolutely amazing! From the moment you drive into the red velvet curtained valet parking area, you know you are in for a treat! I was traveling with two teenage daughters (who have traveled extensively) and even they were impressed. All of the staff was extremely helpful (and all looked like aspiring models/actors.) They remembered us by name all 4 days, and gave us great suggestions on restaurants. We had a two bedroom corner apartment. Each room only had a queen bed, but it was comfortable. The rooms are decorated in a cool retro loft style. Very cozy. We had a balcony overlooking the hills and Capital Records. There is some street noise, but it didn't bother us. We also had a full kitchen with a stocked pantry and fridge, but since there is no room service, we stocked up with breakfast food, snacks and drinks. Just go to yummy.com and they will deliver your groceries within 30 minutes for a total cost of $5.00. Much cheaper than eating the stocked food, and more selection.
Katsuya is a fabulous sushi restaurant right next door and owned by the hotel and they deliver.(It is very nice and also a celeb hang-out.) The Redbury lobby bar and restaurant is also replete with fabulous food, service, and a handful of famous faces.
We can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: We loved the corner two-bedroom apartment! Spacious and sunny and loads of character!

“Great hotel; however, street noise is an issue!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

Arrived early in the morning as one does from an Australia flight and was greeted by Susanna with the promise that my request for an early check in was in the process of being organised and my room would be ready within the hour. Leaving the hotel with a very handy map and directions of how to reach the nearest CVS and supermarket (Trader Joe’s) I was on my way.

From the hotel it is a very easy walk into Hollywood to see the sights and have access to an abundance of tour companies to take you further on your sightseeing desires. There is a Trader Joe’s down from the hotel on Vine Street where you can buy delicious fresh food to fill up your mini fridge and cupboards. The Redbury doesn’t have its own spa; however, it is a quick 5-minute walk to the Bliss Spa attached to the W hotel and that is a great spa for a few hours of pampering.

The house car is a blessing and I used it over two days to take me to the Beverly Centre and The Grove. They don’t usually do pick up, but you can ring the hotel and if the car is not busy they will pick you up for a return trip which I was very lucky enough to secure on one of my days. Otherwise there is an abundance of taxis around to bring you back to the hotel, but be warned very few know where the hotel is and will ask you for the address so have it handy!

The rooms are great size, think studio apartment size, with a kitchenette stocked with a mini fridge, microwave and a coffee maker. A sitting area and balcony, mine had a view of Capital Records, comfy bed, great sized bathroom and shower and a washing machine/dryer which I found to be very handy as a traveller with limited clothing selections and a stay of 5 nights.

The only downside I found with the hotel is the street noise it really is an issue. I used the knowledge of other reviewers and asked for a quite room away from the nightclub, which stopped the thumping music noise; however, the street noise once the nightclub has closed rages on past 3am in the morning. I was on the third floor facing Vine Street and the street noise was terrible, perhaps it might be a little better if you have a higher floor or are facing away from the street.

I returned one evening to the nightclub ablaze with flashing police lights and an extended police presence. The nightclub was closed for whatever reason after the police presence and what a difference in the street noise! I had two uninterrupted nights of sleep.

Great hotel with excellent service and friendly staff who are knowledgeable about the surrounding areas and are more than happy to help you in anyway they can. Downside is the terrible street noise! Would I stay again? On my own for a relaxing get away, unfortunately no. With my family of teenagers, yes they would definitely enjoy the noise and excitement of the surrounding area.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor away from nightclub and street noise.

My partner and I loved our stay here! Having been to LA a few times I can say that this was a fantastic experience. Great room and vibe coupled with excellent staff (Susanna). Always looking for new experiences in LA, Susanna recommended excellent restaurants and night life that suited our 'theme' for the night. Always with a smile and warm greeting, the service we received was outstanding. The rooms are large, comfy beds, great food in the hotels restaurant.... highly recommend & would definitely stay here again!
