If you're looking for a modern aesthetic with a sterile atmosphere than this property won't make your bucket list. If, however, your hedonistic inner bohemian is pining for a truly unique lodging experience look no further. This well situated and historic hotel has had a few incarnations in its past but has embraced an over the top Morrocan decor for quite some time now. From the moment you walk through any of the multiple entrances you are witness to what happens when an interior designer is given free reign. Each unique furnishing is a well worn collectible of enduring charm. Our Casablanca Suite was the only room on the Mezzanine level and offers a funky rock star experience. With fees, parking and taxes the suite cost about $300 per night though the property offers less substantial rooms as well. Parking behind the hotel is a little tricky as it accessed by a narrow alley but is very near the lush pool bar area. Food selections are limited in the cafe but are promptly served and executed very well. Cocktails in the Pool Bar at the rear of the premises were potent ($8.50). Though none of the hotel staff impressed me with warmth, grace, wit or charm neither did they rub me the wrong way. I would however think that dropping $300 a night on a room would have the hotel staff smiling a tad more during our interactions.
