We internet booked the Dow Villa Motel on the basis of TA reviews and were glad we did. Changed our dates by phone with no problem once we landed in California. Stayed one night on the start of our Sierra trip mid September.
Our upstairs room was large, comfortable and clean, and we slept very well despite the noisy air conditioners noted below!
The Dow is an easy walk to restaurants and the museum, and was packed full the night we stayed there but surprisingly was not unduly noisy.
Morning was busy as lots of fellow guests were obviously loading up and heading out for the back country but we were up early anyway to visit the Alabama Hills and Mt Whitney so we just took off and checked out when we got back.
In hindsight, the Dow offered us the best value and service of any accomodation we had on our trip. It is very professionally run, and we would happily return next time we visit Lone Pine.

Dow Villa is a cute little motel in a cute little town. I probably wouldn't have enjoyed staying here so much if it was somewhere in a big city, but in a western town like Lone Pine it is perfect.

Crazy floral bedding, fake flowers and the loudest air conditioner ever were features. But the bed was comfy, there was a bath, decent coffee, a little pool, great service and off street parking. It's kind of like staying in a film set. You'll love it!

This is probably our 5th time at the Dow. We come to Lone Pine once a year in the winter and since our cabin is snowed in we always stay here. The rooms and property is always clean. Free coffee, ice and wifi. Restaurants are all within walking distance and it is a great location in town. Will stay here again and again.

Drove through the whole town, a half mile of stores and motels, nice to have them all part if the downtown, not out like Comfort Inn and Best Western. This was an older place but very well presented and clean. Rooms have very new looking spreads and furniture. A chair and small table by window gave me a place to email. Bath looks new but switches on wall tell me it is recently remodeled. No complaints. Wireless is strong and fast. Desk guy friendly and efficient. Walked to Mt Whitney restaurant on his recommendation. But a BBQ place right across from that and pizza directly across from Dow Villa. Other stores and supplies on the same block! I like this town!
