after carefully looking at their website we opted to stay in 12T. We arrived tired after a long drive to find 12T to be a trailer which was damp, had the door screwed up and ants on the sink. We complained and although we were offered our money back there was nowhere else in town. We asked for discount but this was not an option. I was told that 12T was not usually rented out and that we should have been advised it was a trailer. After returning from holiday I have revisited their website and 12T seemsto have been removed (odd that!!!). The cosy cottages are no more than a small garden shed. There is no lake view so not sure why have have this name. The customer service was very poor. Would not recommend anyone staying there.

website makes this place look idyilic, but its not. they take full stay price on checking in, i can see why now.
set back jusy off the main road ,the cottages are very basic , in fact the 2 bedroom unit we had was clean , but the windows did not lock and 2 were damaged. To close the windows you had to use a piece of wood to stop the window being opened from the outside.
we had booked for 2 nights but could only last the one.
I suppose as there is little other choice in this area they can afford to be as they are.

The lodge is exceptionally well maintained, with immaculate grounds and clean rooms. The staff is accommodating, although worn a bit thin by Yosemite crowds during high season I suspect. The location is fantastic. They have recently installed some new charcoal grills which we appreciated the use of for a picnic. The room was VERY roomy, as was the bathroom. Two sinks with mirrors helped greatly with teenage daughters. A fridge and microwave came in handy and were appreciated. The price during high season matched the prices of everything else in Lee Vining, somewhat high even for resort areas. Get used to it - Lee Vining is well positioned as the eastern gateway to Yosemite - and you will be paying for that. Incidentally, breakfast is NOT included with the room, but Nicely's restaurant is very close and has an incredible breakfast.

First of all this community has a very short tourist season as the Sierra passes to get here are closed from 5 to 6 months of the year. Prices are high compared to other lodging in rural areas because of limited access and few choices. What we got-immense, quiet and immaculate room. Very friendly staff and a bird house!
Visitors to the eastern Sierra-you are not in LA or Tahoe! Enjoy the unique area, visit the Mono Lake Committee and learn more!

The location of this hotel worked for us as it was just at the gateway of the east entrance for Yosemite. We had booked a cabin thinking it would be quaint and cozy with a view of the lake. Wrong! While the "cabin" itself appeared to be fairly new and in good condition, the furnishings were a mish mash of pieces and the bedspread/comforter looked fairly worn. At our cabin (#8) there was no view of the lake--our views were of the dumpster, the satelite dish, parking lot, etc. The front window (large) was broken and taped together. All of the cabins seemed to be converted from former trailer pads and the cabins themselves seemed to be part of a larger trailer court. If you must stay here, a better choice would probably be the main lodge which had a nice but small garden/grassy area.
