I checked into the hotel and was assigned a room. When I opened the door to the room I found that housekeeping hadn't been there. I was after 5pm. I went back to the desk and said the room hadn't been cleaned. The employee didn't look surprised. She said she didn't have any other rooms. Didn't assign me another room. Didn't have any suggestions as to where I could go after that. It took me 3 hours to find another hotel in an overbooked city on graduation weekend all because various people couldn't do the job they were being paid for.

My last review of this hotel still stands, this is a very good hotel/inn, and the place still looks great, has microwave, coffee pot, refrig, phone in bathroom, sofa sleeper, etc, see my last review almost two years ago and photos I took then, everything is still the same, which is a good thing! Also, PLENTY of restaurants all around you, walk 30 seconds to 2 minutes tops! :)

Please note, at that time, during that stay, it was the "Holiday Inn Express", and is now the Quality Inn, which is a pattern I see with QI, they buy QUALITY properties and maintain a consistent standard afterwards, they also buy La Quinta properties to my knowledge, I have stayed at a few Quality Inn's that in fact were a La Quinta at one time or another, but bottom line is, I like Quality Inn Properties, very dependable chain! :)

King Bed Room was just okay. Old Motel with tired decor. Bed was in good shape. Smokers used the upper balcony talking loudly on cell phones and smoking and coughing up a lung. Rather distressing. Turned on room fan to drown out the noise but the fan was like a 747. Children were running up and down the stairs and outer hallways, just being kids but their parents never came searching for them until very late at night. I wouldn't stay at this Quality Inn again. It was more like a very old Super 8.

I stay here on business an average of 2-3 times per month - sometimes for one night - sometimes a week. Here's my thoughts after several visits to date since Summer 2010.

PRO:
***** Location - If you're doing business or personal stuff in Manteca, Tracy, Stockton or Ripon - you can't beat the location - right off I-5 and Louise. It's a short skip over to 99 via 120 as well --- There are several restaurants in immediate walking distance including fast food (Mc Donalds, Carls, Jack in Box, A & W) and Quiznos, a mexican place and Mountain Mikes Pizza. Also in the back are Dennys, Taco Bell and a wings place/bar/club which is pretty friendly and fun as well --- 24 Hour fitness is down Louise about 5 miles direct and there's an InShape at 120/99 as well.

***** Service - Front desk people are friendly and competent. They are extremely accommodating with room location and working things out if you have noisy neighbors or need to cut your visit short unexpectedly - the breakfast is average but for the great rates and free food - it's fine - and if you don't like it there's plenty of options nearby.

***** Weight Room - often open past 10 if you're quiet and the front desk is cool about it!

***** Room Size - rooms are big and nice for a family - Rooms have microwaves and fridges which is very nice

CON:
***** Location - You can hear the freeway on the west side of the hotel but not so much it's unbearable ---- Parking lot could use some better lighting and roadwork in especially from the Carls JR side of the lot - watch out for some street damage.

***** Rooms - Ok - lets be honest - for the great rates compared to other local options, you shouldn't expect a lot of amenities. My only wish would be for larger and at least better operating TVs ---- Internet - is so-so - but again it's free and wireless - i've had worse at more expensive hotels but better at same priced ones as well --- The fridges are great to have but be sure you check the temp before putting anything in them!
