It's too bad because this is a clean, well-kept hotel, near the sports fields. The old front desk woman refused to let any families check in until just a moment before 3pm (the "official" check-in time). We talked to some of the families - some had arrived at 1:30p and they were made to wait in the lobby. The lobby was full of waiting people when we got there at 2:30p! Then, magically at 5 mins til 3pm, the front desk Nazi started checking in people, which of course created a huge backlog and line of people!!! Had she simply checked in single families when they arrived at staggered hours this would not have occurred. Trust me, everyone was upset!
Worse, the hotel management was quick to defend itself - something about they didn't want the families getting in the way of the maids in the hallways - hmm, that didn't seem to bother management the rest of the days when whole TEAMS of families would arrive at the same time after a game lugging all their equipment in the hallways. (No maids were ever injured during these influxes!) Just seemed like a way to let us know how unwelcome we really were there. Truth is - Lancaster/Palmdale has PLENTY of hotels to accomodate sports teams - we've stayed in plenty over the past 5 years. Not one of them ever treated us like this at check-in.
Kudos to the maids - all good, hard workers! Breakfast staff was also friendly and helpful! Too bad for 1st impressions. (By the way, at check-in, families from 2 other teams asked me to add their names to my review! The hotel knows what teams were there, so, consider it done.)

I am aware of frustrations revolved around our contracts and event weekend check in policies.
This contracted group very clearly stated, along with all other methods of booking rooms, that no early check ins or late check outs would be allowed the weekend that you were here. In order to receive the discounted group rate, this and other terms were on the contract. To call the
front desk clerk a "nazi" is just plain unfair when she was only doing her job. On your part, honoring the contract would have been appreciated. All team organizers shared the contracts and welcome letter prior to signing it and prior to booking any rooms. I am, however, glad that you appreciated the cleanliness of our hotel. Our housekeeping staff is wonderful.
