This hotel is a great location, directly across from the ocean. That is where the benefits end. As soon as we checked in we noticed a foul odor coming from the bathroom. We called the front desk and promptly reported it, requesting maid service to clean the bathroom. The maid came and "mopped" the floor (spraying a cleaning solution and using a makeshift mop made otu of a broom and towel to wipe it up). The smell remained and we called the front desk again. A maintenance man arrived next to check out the drain as the front desk man stated often the drains can emit a bad smell (perhaps this room should have been inspected prior to guests checking in). The maintenance man used bleach to attempt to disinfect the smell and seemed inpatient and condescending at this request to fix the smell (again sorry for asking you to do your job). When we went to the front desk to report this the receptionist was indifferent.
Guests will continue to stay here because of the location. Sad that good customer service is a thing of the past. For us we had a full night of the noise from our neighbors cursing each other out (no staff to help with that and the room phone was dead so unable to call staff) and the stench of bleach mixed with a bad odor (as the bleach did not take the odor away). So much for our romatic getaway.

Nice for a short trip. Close to the ocean. We book our room through expedia.com. We got floral decor room. We stayed here for our 2nd marriage anniversary-we arrived from Las Vegas. Furniture was new and pretty. Lots of drawers in a little room! So you can organize your things very well. Pillows: terrible! Blanket so comfy-my husband love it! Sheets-very clean. Shower-horrible-so slow pressure especially if u r going to the beach so often and it's a must to shower! TV- had a bad signal! And the worst thing:horrible smell of bleach(?) in the bathroom and toilet! Quiet in the nights-we slept very well. Free indoor parking garage-love it! Stinky on the hallways! Slow elevator. Breakfast: simple;good coffee and orange juice but beside that nothing special. Front desk representative- it looked like he doesn't care...Patio: never crowded but is facing a loud street-still...u can see an ocean...and sunset. Hadn't try a pool but looked ok. I would say that it's just a little, basic motel but in Laguna Beach!

Love this hotel! Had a 2nd floor corner room facing the street with a partial ocean view from the tiny "secret" smoking balcony, a super comfortable king size bed, large bathroom with a fridge and a heavenly 2 person jacuzzi in the room. Terrific breakfast included, coffee 24/7, helpful staff, free parking, great location. Would have liked a microwave to warm the sake' but they do not have any. Easily the best hotel value in Laguna Beach.

My husband and I just returned from a wonderful stay. The room was quite affordable priced and right in the center of Laguna Beach. We had a view of the ocean from our room and the rooftop deck was quite enjoyable. We slept quite well and the bed was comfortable. The whirpool tubs are huge and make for quite a relaxing trip. The hotel also offers free breakfast, free wireless internet and free parking. Makes this place quite a deal! Enjoy!
