This hotel is a great location, directly across from the ocean. That is where the benefits end. As soon as we checked in we noticed a foul odor coming from the bathroom. We called the front desk and promptly reported it, requesting maid service to clean the bathroom. The maid came and "mopped" the floor (spraying a cleaning solution and using a makeshift mop made otu of a broom and towel to wipe it up). The smell remained and we called the front desk again. A maintenance man arrived next to check out the drain as the front desk man stated often the drains can emit a bad smell (perhaps this room should have been inspected prior to guests checking in). The maintenance man used bleach to attempt to disinfect the smell and seemed inpatient and condescending at this request to fix the smell (again sorry for asking you to do your job). When we went to the front desk to report this the receptionist was indifferent.
Guests will continue to stay here because of the location. Sad that good customer service is a thing of the past. For us we had a full night of the noise from our neighbors cursing each other out (no staff to help with that and the room phone was dead so unable to call staff) and the stench of bleach mixed with a bad odor (as the bleach did not take the odor away). So much for our romatic getaway.
