Stayed for 3 days in August 2011. Location was perfect - right on the beach. Hotel in "ok" shape. You pay for the location, but the room conditions vary. Suggest you ask for a different room if the one you get is not acceptable. The manager, cleaning staff were great. The beach service staff was EXCELLENT and very accomodating. Front desk receptionist was ok. I would stay again as long as the room was ok.

The only good thing about this hotel is that it is on the beach and the room prices are reasonable for the area. The hotel is also centrally located and a short walk away from downtown Laguna Beach. From the moment I saw the place I regretted having chosen it. It is not very nice from the outside. They do have parking at no additional cost which is nice. The staff is less than friendly and no one even offers to take your bags to the room. They claim the rooms are remodeled well they got ripped off because they did an awful job. The beach that the hotel sits on is nice but don't expect to get help with chairs or umbrellas until they decide to send someone out there. When the attendant came out he was helpful but his uniform was dirty. No excuse you are working with the public wear clean shorts. I requested a late check out which I did receive, an additional hour, but then was locked out. When I went to the front desk, no sorry nothing, just here you go.
Anyone going to this area pay the extra money and stay at a nice place.

Location superb and staff really friendly and helpful (Carlos in particular as well as the guys and girls on the beach). However, if you're expecting the website to live up to expectations then prepare to be disappointed! It is most certainly not a luxury hotel! It is, though, a great beach pad and the ocean view rooms have simply that, a stunning ocean view accompanied by the sound of crashing surf! Expect the place to look very tired, but who cares when you simply walk in off the beach covered in sand and salt. There's a liquor store virtually next door so you can stock the fridge and not worry about expensive hotel bar prices! There's also some great restaurants within a short walk towards Laguna on the same side of the PCH (names escape me but they're inexpensive and buzzing so are easy to spot!). We'd stay there again for the "beachy experience" and casual style but I'd also require the price to be somewhat less!

Even though this charming and funky little hotel is ON the Pacific Coast Highway in Laguna Beach, it actually is an ocean oasis of privacy and peace! NOT a chain, Capri Laguna is the best place for a room overlooking the beautiful Pacific ocean. We looked for years (years!) for a place where your room is on the water and the sound of waves rolling onto the sand is right under your balcony. Along the So Cal coast almost all hotel properties are on the land-side of PCH and get away with "ocean view" and have a big parking lot between you and the beach. Not at Capri, ask for one of the oceanfront rooms, worth every penny. PS. Perfect for a wedding or family reunion!
