We started staying at this La Quinta when my now 22-year daughter started playing club volleyball at age 14, and her team stayed there. It's not the Ritz or Four Seasons, but it meets our needs and we keep coming for our youngest daughter's volleyball tournaments (we stay there about 6 times a year from January to June). The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the hotel provides free internet. Location is central for all Southern California Volleyball Association (SCVA) tournaments, and close to Knotts Berry Farm and Disneyland. Nearby restaurants (meaning within walking distance) are Marie Calendars, a sports-theme, Mexican, Panda Express and Sushi, to name a few. The breakfasts are very simple, i.e. coffee, juice, cereal, yogurt, bagels/bread, some fruits, and waffles--again, sufficient for our needs. Notably, the hotel has been accommodating to our sports teams when they have had to leave for tournaments at 6:30 a.m. and opening breakfast early.
On one occasion in early 2010, we arrived and the hotel reservations had not received my request to upgrade the room to a suite (my daughter decided to come with us), and the hotel overbooked. While the situation initially was uncomfortable, the front desk manager took time to call three other hotels, and we ultimately stayed at a nearby Holiday Inn at no charge. In my view, things happen, and La Quinta made the situation right. We will continue to stay there.
Several teenage sports teams have stayed at this hotel when we have been guests, yet we have not experienced any problems with noise.
