The good: clean, spacious, free wine/beer happy hour, free breakfast,
The bad: the rooms had those movement sensor lights, and everytime my husband moved, the lights would go on in the middle of the night-SO annoying!! The beds were terrible, my back hurt so bad the next day from the regular bed and my poor daughter in the fold out sofabed was miserable! The area around the hotel is really dismal, we stayed here to go to Knott's the next day, next time, we will be staying on the other side of the freeway, even though it's only 4 miles away, took forever to get there, lots of stoplights. We wanted to eat at the Claim Jumper the night before and that took a long time to get to.

I'm a frequent traveler to the Sante Fe Springs/Buena Park area for business, and was quite happy with the Norwalk Marriott (now re-branded to some independent hotel). Wanting to stay in the Marriott family I gave the Residence Inn a go.

Service is friendly, and it's hard to miss them in the relatively crowded lobby/business center/breakfast buffet & happy hour area. Elbow room gets tight at peak breakfast hour and happy hour. Options at breakfast are adequate but relatively limited compared to other Residence Inn's. Happy hour spread is standard - burgers, hot dogs, potato chips, etc.

The property and rooms are clean, but "tired." Beginning to show age, especially the meeting rooms. And the outside access to your room is a sketchy touch. At two floors only, the property is pretty spread out, so you can have a little walk in the morning and evening. Highway noise is an issue if you are at the front of the property pointed in the right [wrong] direction. Standard accommodation for a Residence... kitchen, living, bedroom and bathroom.

Small workout room that only had two treadmills, one elliptical and dumbbells. Only one functioning treadmill... seems I could make a fortune opening a business to service Marriott exercise equipment...

Overall an okay value for the area at $124/night. My colleague is high on the Anaheim Marriott, so I'll be giving that a try next.

We booked this hotel because they had a great rate for families from Biola University. We had two rooms, a two bedroom for the first night: the room was very clean and well appointed with a kitchen and sitting area. The room was on the freeway side of the building, so sitting on the lanai was very noisy, request a room facing the inside of the hotel. The majority of our trip was in a studio. It was also very clean and well appointed, the inside room was much quieter also. The best part of our stay was the staff (Hello to the "happy guy" Timothy who greeted us every morning for breakfast) The breakfast is great! waffles, eggs, sausage, cerial, fresh fruit, yogert..all yummy and well stocked. We will definately be returning. ;) PS.There are 4 resturants within walking distance.

Marriott needs to renovate this place! This place is falling apart!!

Cleanliness - 3 stars since things were fairly clean.

Location - 3 stars since place is less than 1 mile from my workplace and there is an In & Out Burger next door.

Rooms - 2 stars since place is old with old bed, old sofa, old TV, old lamps, old stove, old microwave. The only good thing about the room is the free internet and safe.

Service - 4 stars since staff was friendly.

Value - 2 stars since there are other hotels near by that offers better value.

Sleep quality - 1 star since mattress has been used for so long that it just sinks down and the pillows go flat quickly. In addition, if your room is on the ground floor, then you will definitely hear the person on the second floor and feel the loud vibration when that person walks around (thump! thump! thump!). And the air conditioner unit right outside the window (next to the bed) is quite annoying as it goes on and off during the night.
