This hotel ruined our visit to La Jolla. It's only positive is its location in the middle of La Jolla. The hotel is near a bar that played loud music late into the night. The hotel walls are paper thin so other guests woke us up in the morning. We purchased ear plugs to make it through the second night, but you could still hear the music. The breakfast consisted of brown speckled bananas and they ran out of croissants. The room was small with barred window that did not open. Don't stay here!

We spent 3 nights there during Spring Break. The rooms were extremely NOISY!!! The walls are paper thin and it's near a very noisy bar that played LOUD music into the late hours. The location is great for being near everthing. It's not worth the lack of sleep and privacy though. They will not let you check out early. They will charge an early checkout fee of $200. Makes me wonder!

I went to La Jolla Inn on March 27. The smell what's unpleasant to me. I said this to receptionist and checked out. I had to pay for the night anyway. I do not think that was an appropriate way to handle this incident. Normally a hotel would apologize and not charge. Very disappointed. I went to Ocean Beach Hotel. What a nightmare! We checked into one of the village level rooms at the La Jolla Inn in February. Paint fumes were so strong that we gave a 72 hr notice that we would be leaving. The window would not open and the ventilation unit would not stay on more than five minutes. Complaining did no good. The fumes were so toxic they set off the smoke detector at 7:00AM. Of course we immediately checked out. The front desk staffer apologized, charged us for one night, and we left to find another room. However, we were charged for early checkout when our credit card bill arrived. Multiple phone messages to the owner have not been returned over the past month, we are told he is the only one who can credit back the charges. Beware!
