We have stayed here 10+ times and we keep going back. We love the laid back atmosphere and you can't beat the proximity to the beach. We love it here! You are literally steps from the beach. We love to get a bonfire and BBQ for fun nights on the beach. If you are looking for a super modern hotel, this is not it. It is very nice, but it is more Norman Rockwell than the Ritz. The rooms are all nice and have been updated in recent years.

I have come here for over ten years for the tennis and the wonderful beach. This time we were disappointed in the organization of the tennis matches (or lack thereof) and the overall service. We had very spotty internet connection in our room, which is starting to look old and tired. Meal service trays were left outside rooms for days. The beach is still magnificent, and the tennis courts themselves well maintained, but for the price charged to stay, there are definitely better deals. We chose a one bedroom overlooking the beach to hear the waves; unfortunately most nights we could hear the beach parties right below us as well.

Great place to stay with family, with different interests. My husband "loved" the fact he could walk out the door to play golf a couple times a day. I and the teens walked out our door to hang on the beach. We felt it safe to let the teens wonder within the property while we ate at the restaurant by ourselves. The teens even got to play tennis while we enjoyed our own time. We leave the rental car in the lot and just walk to where we want to go. You can walk to the public beach and downtown La Jolla, where there is shops and restaurants and a grocery store. We always get a two bedroom with kitchen which is great for space and cooking meals. You pay a lot that way, but also save a lot by cooking meals. If you like a fire pit on the beach, set up rent time when you do reservation. We have gone the last two years and plan to go again this year.

I cannot say enough great things about this place. The room, location, staff, and service was excellent. Our room (#207) was a one bedroom condo style room with street view. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, blender, toaster, etc. A basket with Starbucks coffee, cocoa, and popcorn was refreshed each day by housekeeping. The unit was large, clean, has free internet access and free parking. The hotel is located on the beach, and includes free use of boogie boards and beach chairs. I did not use the pool, tennis courts or golf course but they looked nice. The staff is awesome. When we got to our car one morning and discovered we had a dead battery, the staff was right there with a battery to help jump start the car. They even offered to shuttle my son and a few other boys to their lacrosse tournament in Del Mar in case the car did not start. We paid $159 a night and it was well worth it. I will definitely stay here again when I am in San Diego.
