We stayed here two night last week. I booked an Ocean View Suite, the view is definitely worth the extra cash if you have it. Initially they had our reservation wrong and had us in a garden view. Luckily I had a copy of my confirmation and Will was very kind and apologetic and straightened it all out. We were put in room 338 which definitely had the best view and deck that we saw. Right on the ocean with a fantastic view of La Jolla. Room was nice and bed was very comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful the whole time we were there. The pool was a little on the small side but it was in the low 60's so we didn't swim. Restaurant bar was great for a drink before or after dinner and I heard the desserts were great although we didn't get a chance to try them. Breakfast at the hotel was just okay, I would recommend checking out Caroline's Seaside Cafe at the Scripps Institute or Brockton Villa instead. Walk to Osteria Romantic for a casual Italian dinner outside and definitely make reservations at The Marine Room. The Bellhop drove us there but we walked home, definitely a nice easy 10 minute walk after a fantastic dinner. Overall I would definitely recommend the hotel and area and hopefully will return someday soon.
