First off, visitors should understand that this place sits among a row of motor-lodge type roach motels on the beach side of King's Beach, so set your expectations relatively low. It is a 1-star rated establishment.
Value of course is a very subjective thing, but this is the kind of place you're forced to stay at because the car broke down on the highway, and the rates fairly reflect that. Sheets are clean, but the rooms are desperately in need of repair (pocks on the walls, Wal-Mart fixtures, and worn-down furniture).
On the positive side, the owner was very friendly and they do actually have a hot tub. Rates were as low as you're going to find in the greater Tahoe area.
So, as we did, if you're just looking for a warm place to crash for a few hours and you're willing to go low-maintenance, this is your place. For weekend vacationers who may actually stay in the rooms, do your dignity a favor and look elsewhere.
